Wolverhampton

Shrove Tuesday is swiftly approaching. Any suggestions for what to put in them? Jaffa cakes are not allowed

Also, do you make your own from scratch or use a kit, or buy them ready made?

I've always liked them with just sugar, but recently discovered how great they are with chocolate spread. And we always make our own from scratch

Dunno if this is the Irish way or not but people over here don't seem to do it, but spread with butter, sugar and a squeeze of lemon.

Simple lemon and sugar. Or when the batter is cooking through in some raisins, then lemon or sugar.

Second one is hot Cherry or apple, with a dollop of vanilla ice cream then folded over.

I'll be honest, I forgot about the joy of savoury pancakes. We don't have them often, but have enjoyed them with creamy chicken inside and also bacon and cheese. Yum

I won’t be having any unless I visit my parents, but when I do get them they are made from scratch filled with either golden syrup and strawberries or chocolate or toffee ice cream. Yum!

Irish mother too. Over here they just seem to sugar and lemon, but you've got to spread that kerrygold while they're still warm then sugar and lemon
