Norfolk

As the sands of time continue their advance I find that my age falls in to a particular void. A lot of profiles have a cut off at 45 and there are some that have the age starting at 50. Their choice entirely so I’m not saying otherwise, what I am beginning to think is that as a male of my age, is it time to hang up my hat and live a life of solitude?

That's your own choice but I didn't join here until I was 52 and I always wonder why others seem to think their age is an impediment. Mine has never been an issue or even a topic for discussion.

i thought i had become invisible when i turned 56 as many couples and women set their limits to 55. however whilst there is a smaller pool of people to meet those that exist know what they want and want what they know. people have preferences and that is ok. it’s their loss though

My age range used to be 45-57, I suppose it might be your catchment area although the midlands covers 90% of Britain apparently

I'm curious at the thinking behind your last comment. I see this all the time on here but obviously it can't be their loss if you aren't what they were looking for in the first place just as it's not my loss if I don't meet someone I'm not compatible with.

I thought my age was an issue.

I'm kind of in the middle area that no one wants.

Under 40 is still acceptable for some of the younger generation, over 50 and you are exactly what the older folks want.

Mid 40s and you are either too old or too young.

Regular dating is even worse. I think I'll start lying about my age lol

I hear what you're saying OP.

Whilst there's an argument to say that we mature, virile specimens are in our prime, that doesn't seem to apply on Fab: too old to be a swashbuckling stud but too young to be a dirty old man.

Or am I somehow missing a rich seam of women out there for the fortysomething male?
