I was talking with a work colleague and I reckoned we would be at an average of £1.75 by April.

This year is going to be awful for everyone.

Time to use the oil and gas resources that we have in the North Sea for our own needs rather then on the open markets

"Time to ditch fossil fuels"

That's easy then, we're really ready for that.

Do explain how we do that rapidly and how we replace the £120 billion loss of petrol & diesel taxes & duties?

Sadly the SNP have joined the greens to try and gain more power so wee nicola won't allow that.

Seriously can easily see £2, one is the obvious jitters in the crude price and the other is the fuel companies especially supermarkets taking advantage and increasing margins.

Before the Issa brothers bought Asda they led the price war operating at around 4/5% gp, now they price at 10% gross profit and everyone else followed them, they move again no doubt.

I can see her doing this though in an "effort" it "help" the UK while the war is happening and lining the SNP coffers and then using that to push for independence again saying we can support ourselves again

I better start using the car again then.

My bike costs a fortune to run. The fuel for me is more expensive than petrol now.

The price of crude is one of the smallest contributors to the price at the pump. The cost of refining, distribution and the tax levied at point of sale far outstrips the cost of the crude oil, and with electricity generation costs up, wage inflation taking place and no sign that tax reductions are likely then it’s almost certain that the £2 litre will be here soon.

Not as easy as that. So much is shipped straight out of the country, via pipeline or tanker.

More drilling would be a start but we aren't allowed to do that as easily as we used to.

We could ambush the tankers! Fab kinsters to the rescue. I saw a film on that.

The oilers will soon shite it when everyone starts to work from home, walk to the local shops, stop flying on holidays, etc.

You'd need to nationalise energy production.

You do know that the electricity market is still dictated by fossil fuels. Right? I mean, as Tom would say, “It’s been all over the news”……. Or am I the only one whose bill has gone up by £700?

Do you fill up your car with petrol you keep in a garage ?

Or do you go to a DEDICATED PUMP to fill up .

Got to be a bit weird to charge an electric car at home

Ah so you get the electricity to charge your car from charging stations that are exempt from the global fossil fuel price hikes, which effect both commercial and residential users

Fella. It costs me £6 for around a 35 /40 minute charge. That puts enough in the battery to Last me 18 days of daily before the next charge.

Just the way it is.

Oh chap, I agree, it certainly is the way forward. But the price will go up, this I guarantee you.

You must be dreading using the jet wash at the petrol station. You'd have to pay through the roof for both electric ,soap AND water based on your theory

Clacton on Sea

The problem with electric cars is where to put the used batteries which experts reckon will take 50,000 years before they break down and are safe.

If all cars were electric now we couldn't safely dispose of the batteries in bulk so electric powered car companies are being told to invest in safe disposal now before its too late.

We got an email last night. Our monthly direct debit for gas is going up by over £40 a month. It has been £63, now it's going to over £100 a month from March. This is despite our usage going down significantly this winter compared to last.
