Ukraine will not be an easy fight for russia to begin with, just look at chechnia and how that went for the russians
Plus full scale war among the major powers will be way too costly for everyone with very little to gain for either side

The western Allies have already said they're not going to put troops into Ukraine. Ukraine will fall and Russia will be sanctioned. Now it may eventually lead to war once the sanctions kick in down the line somewhere. Or when trump is reelected it will all be smoothed over and resolved. | |||

Right now meetings will be going on looking at ways of crippling Russia economically. Putin knows there's only so far he can go with this. There are lots of Russian billionaires assets scattered all around the economies of democracies and those guys won't want them frozen and would have told Putin that.
