Wear clothes made of breathable materials such as linen or cotton. Drink water. Run your wrists under cold water and put something cold on the back of your neck. A bit obvious but stay in the shade when possible

I'm a winter person so I just end up melting.

Lots of ice cream, sitting by the tower fan on full pelt... chilled drinks, water spray for my face, loose cotton clothing, lots of cool showers, and stay behind closed curtains or in the shade as much as possible

try to only go out in the evening/night when you can

My dad tells me this. It makes you sweat therefore cools you down

Dubai & Nottingham

I spend long periods in extremely hot countries in the middle eeat and Africa, 40-50 degrees. Wear linen / linen cotton, sandals or breathable shoes. Avoid the sun , adjust your routines so you are up and doing the bulk of work early and late with siestas in the middle hottest periods. Move slowly and swim and take cool showers regularly.

In the west.

We don't get enough sun and warm weather here inorder to acclimatise.

I love the heat, but not direct sunlight, pasty Scotland, so I look for shade and wear loose fitting clothes. I also have a neck towel that I soak and wear.

I also drink lots of water and juice, until the sun goes down.

I used to work with a Latvian guy who followed his grandfathers advice. He wore a sweatshirt and vest every single day regardless of temperature and said he never felt too warm or too cold. He had been doing it for 20 years at that stage and said his body was always at a consistent temperature. I broke out in a sweat just looking at him mid summer.

Worthing

Light cotton shirt, Shorts. Keep drinking room temperature water. Tempting to drink ice cold which tastes great but the body warms itself up naturally once d*unk which is counterproductive. Occasionally run wrists under cool running water.

Thanks people. Much appreciated. I put this thread up because I'm travelling to Mykonos in July and it will be so hot there. I'm currently hitting the gym a lot just to loose any unnecessary body weight xxx

Hate summer nights when it's too hot to sleep and you soak the bed with sweat!

I've been there and passed through the island. There can be a breeze blowing that will help to keep you cool.
