The shame / guilt

So I was aimlessly scrolling through FB and I came across a article on my feed about a popular swingers club essentially going bust, I believe I was looking at the mirrors post. I made the silly mistake of reading the comments didn't I there were some really horrid comments on there aimed towards swingers and anyone that frequents these clubs, infact I had to stop reading because I was quite taken aback from it. There were some rather nasty and horrid things said about the lifestyle, the people and ,now I feel so low and deflated, asif everyone sees us as dirty horrid people which we would be. Has anyone felt guilt from the lifestyle? Or taken any abuse from it

They are anonymous strangers on Internet. They don't matter!

I think I read the same thing. I rolled my eyes and put the phone down. I personally think that the people shout loudest on such things are the ones who are probably hiding something far worse than a bit of fun in a dungeon. I thought it was all very (but sadly) predictable.

No matter what you do in life people will judge.

As long as you are comfortable with what you do others opinions don't matter. Haters will always hate

I don’t feel guilty about it, but I don’t broadcast it either.

The slightest hint I’ve given away is when friends are trying to set me up or tell me I need a man, I just simply respond “I get all I need, when I need it, you lot just don’t know about it” and some understand now when I say “I’m away with friends this weekend” what that means.

I do me, they do them but been lucky with no judgment so far.

Whenever worried by FB etc - and although written over 250 years ago - this quote by Edmund Burke always seems appropriate...

Because half a dozen grasshoppers under a fern make the field ring with their importunate chink, whilst thousands of great cattle, reposed beneath the shadow of the British oak, chew the cud and are silent, pray, to not imagine that those who make the noise are the only inhabitants of the field; that, of course, they are many in number; or that, after all, they are other than the little, shriveled, meagre, hopping, though loud and troublesome insects of the hour.

Never felt shame or guilt. I haven't read the comments you refer to but honestly the reaction to naturist on social media ranges from giggly playground type comments to accusations of being perverts so swingers will really come in for it. If Disgusted of Tunbridge Wells finds consensual sex between adults horrifying they need to get out more...probably to swingers clubs

nope and hugs hopefully you feel better soon

At this stage I am past careing what others think

I am happy and I am a ( bad word) and proud off it

But here something to remember the

Katy that was in the comments

Went out at the weekend there went clubbing

Got took home by a bunch off pals and spit roast or gangbanged by them

Some off the story’s I here comeing form vinillas wouldn’t be out off place in the swinger world

Just because it was a night club and not a swingers club

Dosent make it any different

Swinging has been going on for decades more like a romp but not as much in the public eye.im sure most of those people as you speak of have indulged in some form in their lives

I’d rather the people making the nasty comments stay away from the clubs to be honest. 99% of the people we meet in a club are some of the most friendly and welcoming people I have ever met.

Until consensual sex is made illegal, we’re not doing anything wrong.

People shout loudest and longest about things they don't understand, we see it often enough on here.

My private life is just that private, I don't mind sharing and chatting about kink on here and at socials as I know I have a likeminded audience

Jealousy takes many forms, most people will always be jealous that your sex life is exciting and theirs is nonexistent. I find it funny most of the time how pathetic people really are.

It was the mirror, what did you expect lol

I only ever read the comments section on things like that for a laugh. Sad little no bodies passing judgment on other people like they're something special.

I don't feel guilt or shame. Quote a lot of people know what I do and don't give 2 shits about it as long as I'm safe.

Unfortunately it's called freedom of speech, and the moment anyone tries to put an opinion that upsets the outraged person it just tends to inflame them even more.

Having been bullied when I was younger I've just learnt to ignore the critics and just bbeme, enjoy the company of the people you're with and be you.

Can you imagine of swinging was popular how many more people would be on here sending you messages or dick pics?

I've never been to a club and this isn't a lifestyle choice for me but I don't feel any shame or guilt.

I don't follow swinging related groups anywhere on social media but the people making those comments are probably the same ones telling others it's perfectly safe to go walking in the mountains in jeans and trainers and to ignore conflicting advice.

They have a lifetime of experience sitting on the sofa and are therefore perfectly qualified to advise and pass judgement.

Guilt?? What on earth do we have to be guilty about? I feel regret for having arrived at the party so late in life, but guilt???? I've done nothing that isn't consensual or encouraged by all concerned. Nah, they can funk off, I'm not so much proud, but totally cool with it. No guilt here

I’m not a swinger but no shame or guilt here for being on here. Although nobody knows anyway as I keep my sex life private. There are people in life who are my kind of people and people who aren’t. There will always be bashing of some sort going on whether it’s swinging bashing, bible bashing, vegan bashing etc etc etc. Just do you, the opinions of strangers matter not x

Casual, NSA sex is more popular and available than ever with all the dating apps and sites these days.

Swinging just has a dated legacy associated with it, akin to a Carry On or St Trinians film.

With life full of far more important worries, the opinions of strangers on an internet are/should be at the bottoms of the pile. Filed in folder B1N

Keep smiling, and more importantly, do what you enjoy.

Some people actually like Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, proving other people's opinions are weird. Who cares what Karen thinks.
