Definitely shouldn't.

Could be the seals are just tired and need replacing. Could be a stiff hinge just not closing fully. Could be the adjustment rollers need a tweak. Or they could have been well and truly cowboyed in 15 years ago.

The first three are simple enough to do. The fourth less so.

My bathroom window definitely does. I don't know what's wrong with it but there's definitely a draught coming in as the bathroom is always freezing x

Ours make interesting noises basically musical windows.

If it's the right pitch the dog joins in too!

"We're just curious if it's normal? "
the mastic the windows are sealed with round the edges is starting to come away from the frame,, mainly due to age and rain getting under it in cold weather and freezing and lifting the mastic,, it just needs removing and fresh mastic applying,,, i do mine every 3 years,,,

It's the casing that covers the waste pipes. If the wind it's inside those it can blow a hoolie.

Always put plugs in when its windy as a draught comes up the pipes

Wirral

Mine do, and the curtains blow away from them.

If a strong wind comes from the north I have one window that blows off its hinges and I have to wedge it back into place or have a 5mm gap around it. Thankfully that doesn't happen often, maybe once every 18 months.

It's not a well built flat.
