Vanilla Dating Site Pet Hates

Jump to newest

I'm also on a vanilla dating site (the one with the pink heart), and I have a little pet hate.

Everyone appears to post pictures of themselves up a mountain or doing some kind of strenuous activity. When do they wash their smalls and clean the toilet?

So people, if you're on a vanilla site, what's your pet hate?

The lies

The lead down the garden path

If you play hard to get and not give out they movie on to the next

If you do give out you end up ghosted sorry for the rudeness hear

But humped and dumped so to speak

And I have no choice in the matter if that’s what I want or not

at least with fab people are upfront in what they looking for

And then I get to decide if it’s for me

If I like them that way they I am going to let it happen regardless off if they just want a one night thing or more

But it allows me to detached feels and stuff from it

I can just let loose for the night alown myself to be used in that sens and not feel rubbish or used the next day

As yes they may be useing me as a toy or what ever for the night but trust me I am use them back in the same way just as much

Married men.

Men who ask if I'm 'passionate' thinking they've cleverly disguised the fact they're just looking for sex.

I am one of those guys who posts such stuff

To answer your question, in long expeditions, we have toilet tents which is basically a deep pit where you di your business and cover it with some soil. Personally I find that to be the most challenging part of expeditions.

We are mostly dirty as we don't take a shower. The shower we take once we are back is the most blissful experience. Sorry for giving a serious answer to a fun question

My own pet hates?

*A man who knows what he wants.

*I want someone who can make me laugh.

*Some form of empty profile. Come on people. It doesn't take much time to write a paragraph. And it pisses me off when I see a single line profile that says "Message me to know more about me".

* Cheaters/liars don't message me. As though cheaters/liars will stop messaging after they see that on their profiles.

I know.... I figured it out on my own and everything

They always think they're being sneaky because they don't just come out and say sex. Boys are silly.

I used to hate the wasted time.

Going on another date only to find that we were incompatible because they’d lied about their intentions or their interests.

I had actually decided that my next date would be the last one and then fate sent me Dora.

3 years together now, blissfully happy and getting married in the summer.

I have been on several sites. The biggest hate of all for me. Photo’s of say about five females in profile photo . Then trying to work out from text who is the one out of the five is on the site. One female did not have a single photo of her on her own. ? The oddest bit for me was in profile she had put that had two daughters and their ages. In one photo , she was her stood with younger guy who looked about twenty five. So thought was her son until read her details again . Then totally confused.

Ooh where to start.

Why are you on (dating site) when you’re on Fab as well

Pics of guys with cars that are meant to impress

Pics of guys with dogs - I’m not a dog lover

Pics of guys in a group - Guess who

Guys just looking for sex - that’s what Fab is for

Pics that are out of date - met a guy that was a few stones heavier than his pic then asked why I didn’t want to meet again.

To be fair I have met a few guys who were lovely.

I'm pretty sure some people are simply bored and like to chat when they meet someone interested in them who can make a conversation. Then, when it comes to the point of meeting, they make any excuse to quit (or just ghost you)

Men with dead fish, men with children, men with dogs, men with boats, men with motorcycles, men with 10 other men so you don't know which one is them.

Men who can't take an ordinary bloody selfie round the right way and in focus which isn't cropping off their head.

I once saw a profile with the only pic of a radiator. Another of some bin bags by a verge. And they hadn't even added a filter. FFS.

I've abandoned vanilla dating sites altogether.

The dead fish. Why??

The hillwalking as a hobby

Pics with their kids. Not appropriate.

The lies. Just be honest and let the person decide.

The entitlement from most men thinking that because they have messaged you must reply immediately

I could write a book on the disasters I've had over the years.

I had the opposite. Nothing on females profile about kids. In fact very few details about her. During a conversation she asked about me having children . I have none of my own . Did say even at my age yes would like if possible. I asked then if seeing each other was still on for weekend. She replied have to check if mom will look after children. I said that she had never mentioned before. Her reply was , I had not asked. Which was correct. Yes did see each other that weekend and a few times since . A bit difficult due to children etc . Message each other most days.

On dating sites, I think it means, and I paraphrase here, I'm full of shit, but trying to make myself seem superior to you. Does that sound about right Beryl? X"

No, it's hard cash! They charge according to gender. So for me (straight, fella), I'm stung for £19.99 per month. From that, I've had the sum total of two dates over the past five months. Had to sign up for six months, finishes next month. Then I'm just staying on here.

Mids

I don't have many. I've met my last two long term girlfriends through vanilla dating sites and even though it took a lot of sifting, i had loads more opportunity for meets than on here. What I like about them is the focus is more on the person and their interests rather than aesthetics like on here. Not slagging fab as on my last profile i had a fair few meets it's just a hell of a lot of work for very little reward. It's also the reason why i probably would never look for a girlfriend on here. I also feel more comfortable to have public pics on there as it wouldn't come back to bite me.

The damn fish!!!! Women are not impressed by your fishing skills!

Here for a good time, not a long time / Looking for my partner in crime / No drama

The whole online dating experience is soul crushing tbh. I haven't been on any dates in forever and I like to think I'm not the worst someone could do but I also have standards.

When will fab add a dating section so those of us who like flavours other than just vanilla can try and find love without having to try and subtly mention it for it to be seen as an invitation for sex??

Frankly, I'm amazed that catching fish just to photograph and let them go again hasn't been outlawed years ago on the grounds of unnecessary cruelty. I don't think that sentient men would bait hooks to catch birds or cats for the 'sport' of it.

Fish,of course, can't squawk so that is one reason the practice continues. The main reason, though, is that it is a multi million £ industry.

I was fascinated when I first learned from female users that fishing shots were so popular among male suitors. Looking like the food provider is all well and good if we are talking about catching edibly popular species but it seems that in most instances that is not the case!

Men posing with fish is up there, up a mountain, in a swimming pool and the one that pissed me off the most (this was on Facebook dating) is a profile picture of an inspirational quote or a power ranger (I kid you not) OR. A pfp with their kids, I get it, they have kids but seems a bit wrong to have them plastered all over your dating profile.

"Oh god I joined a couple the other day, I swiftly deleted them after a few hours.

Danish x

Photos of children really don't belong on dating sites, if they're yours we can tell from reading your profile, if they're not yours you're just coming off as a creep!

I saw a cute guy today but he had 4 pics with nieces. Nope.

Dud they do that thing where they black or blur their face out? X

Nope! "

Not getting a single match in four years on any of the sites I'm on.

There's obviously something wrong with me, but I've still no idea what.

Women with their tongue out, it just comes across as childish.

Heavily photoshopped, absolutely no wrinkles or chance to see what she really looks like:

Photos with other people in and in some cases you don’t know which woman is looking to date. As all of their pictures are group photos

Text that’s says something like ‘only genuine guys need to apply’ I’m sure that would definitely put off the chancers

"I'm a strong independent woman"

Why are you on a dating site then? Are you not aware of the word interdependent?

"I'm a bitch" things of that nature.

Well done, you've just put most of us off. If I want combat I'll join the army.

"My children will always come first"

While I appreciate the sentiment. They won't be around forever and you'll be left with me who you consider 2nd place, no thanks.

The worst though. The very worst. Is when they write out a huge laundry lost of things they want, but then say absolutely nothing about themselves.

I'd avoid dating sites altogether to be honest. Full of vapid, shallow women. And to be honest that fact that most of them are single really isn't any surprise at all.

Sorry but it's true. The research is out there %90 of women all go after the same %10 of men. It's a numbers game and men are onto a loser on dating sites.

They can pick and choose as they are so out numbered by the men. So unless you look like Chris Hemsworth you're not going to get anywhere lol.

They have unrealistic expectations then complain there's no good men when they "refuse to settle".

Agreed. And hopefully the kids will outlive their parents so they will be around forever. Granted they're a lot less demanding on your time and resources as adults but I would always expect a partner to put their kids before me. Even adult children. Each to their own but it's probably best for those who feel differently to not date people with children.

OK let me give you a little insight.

When I say they won't be around forever I mean they will eventually move out and have lives of their own.

I'm a father. I'm also in a relationship. Have been for over a decade. I don't disclose that for reasons I won't go into on here I'm not derailing the thread. But I have never ever considered my partner or my son to be in some sort of ranking of importance.

To me that's a terrible thing to do. And anyone that does that to me is a terrible person. That's my feeling on the matter. Make of it what you will but I'm never going to change how I feel.

The strong independent woman thing I've always thought to mean they have their own place, own car and own money so they're not looking for a man to bank roll them. I might be wrong but I've found it's an attractive prospect finding a woman who wants you and likes you for who you are not just for what you can materialisticly provide for her.

You do realise the kids come first thing is for the early parts of the relationship right? They have an obligation and responsibility to their kids, not some random person they may begin dating early on. And they are making sure every entitled prick knows it.

Yeah it's cringy to read but so what, it's a fact.

It is making it clear that they have kids and what they need will come before any kinds of demands for a date or attention from "you". If their kids need something then a date will be cancelled etc

Eventually down the line as a potentially partner "you" will have an equal priority to their kids, but until that time comes a potential partner should always be second priority.

Christ if a parent put me before their kids, or even equal before we had been dating a good solid amount of time, I'd be questioning their parenting qualities and would probably break it off with them anyway for that very reason.

I didn't say you had to change how you feel.

I have encountered people who believe that by being in a relationship with someone they should be the most important person in their life, including above their children. I know people for who it has been a common source of conflict so I can understand why they feel the need to put it on their profile to filter those people out.

Honestly I kinda feel like it shouldn't be totally equal. Obviously over time you gain increased priority but if it really comes down to it I think the kids should be first. Obviously if you're very frequently being flaked on in non-emergency situations because they're disorganised and inconsiderate then it's shitty but I think that's a different issue not specific to having children. Obviously it's about how you handle it though. If it's a shared custody situation and they get a rare opportunity to spend extra time with them or attend something important to the kids, I'm not going to want to deny them that even if it means cancelling plans.

I think you've made a lot of assumptions about some women after 3 days on a dating site. As a single mother looking for a man to date of course my kids take priority. Because they're not adults and for 3 of them I am their primary parent as they don't see their dad. So if a guy takes offence because I say they come first - okay. And btw your assumption about womens expectations of Chris Hemsworth or nothing - YOUR assumption. My last partner was bald, with a beer belly and bow legged. One of the best men I know.

I don't see what's wrong with saying "independent strong woman" - looking for a partner doesn't make anyone less so. And YOU were on a dating site too!

And kids come first. If a man said that I'd respect him for it. You're putting women down for it.

Beryl, did really have to tell everyone what looked like x
