What do you spend your disposable income on? Basically what's left to spend, after all your commitments are sorted.

Do you give yourself an allowance, do you spend what's left after everything's paid, or do you just buy what you fancy regardless?

For me it's mostly spent on family meals.

After that, attending clubs, including transport and drinks.

(And latex and lingerie and other sexy items to take there).

I have a good collection of toys, which I have invested in heavily, but I won't be buying any more for a while as they don't get used often as it is.

(Unless my doxy dies,in which case I will be immediately purchasing a replacement)

Mr KC's toy soldier habit

Very occasionally clothes for us

Mr KC sets himself a monthly budget for his toy soldiers (his choice, he doesn't have to). The sports activity costs are pretty consistent month to month and the rest we decide together, usually. That said, if I wanted to buy a dress, I will. Similarly, if he wants to buy himself something, he will. We trust each other enough (everything is joint)

I get rid of as much as possible at source , pension, investments etc and keep minimal in current accounts or instant access so that big purchases have to be planned. I run a couple of interest free credit cards for non essential spending , it’s not the best idea tbh you spend more than you would otherwise

I can't honestly say. As a single man, I can't say I dispose too much of it on what I can see the physical results of. I go to the cinema, cafe, meals (yes, I'm that sad bugger of a lone diner in the corner). Things like that, I suppose.

At my age it's a good feeling to be able to do this rather have to justify it to myself.

If you have a local pret, they do a monthly subscription, for £20 you can have up to 5 drinks a day including smoothies and coffee.

For those who spend a lot on coffee, it could be a saving, plus you get the other drinks too.

I spend what is left after everything is paid and I've put away the minimum I want to save. If I have anything extra left at the end of the month I'll usually put that into savings unless I want something specific and didn't think I could afford it.

I spend my disposable income on drinks and entry for clubs/socials and the odd take away, occasional meals out and day trips.

For things like clothes, lingerie, make up, etc I make an assessment on if I can afford it in a particular month and sometimes decide to go without the things in the paragraph above if I really want something.

For more expensive things like holidays I save up.

Its around a tenner for coffee and a bun for two people so it soon adds up. If you enjoy and can do it is all that matters. I love a nice coffee and a cake at weekend somewhere. As long as its not too busy, with shouty people and screaming kids.

We used to frequent a tiny independent run by a French couple who made the best coffee we've ever tasted. They had a reward scheme which we made good use of

but sadly they just couldn't make enough to keep going.

This may not make a lot of sense but I will explain as best as I can.I tend to save money in a instant access savings account and a ISA.I do however have what can be described as a gambling problem where by I can place bets on sporting events like football accumulators ,horses , snooker and various other sporting events anything from £10-£50 a day most days. I will occasionally have a crazy moment where I will take part in a pool match or poker game , casino night where I could quite easily blow £2k.Overall I am what I would call a percentage player I never lose more than I can afford never been overdrawn , mortgage free , savings to tap into at any time for a newer car , holiday and I work full time 36 hours a week Monday to Friday.

I look on it as a very pleasant social activity and a contribution to the local economy even on the rare occasions I use a chain it's keeping someone in a job. It was something both of us missed a lot during lockdown.

When bubbles were introduced and I could see my mum again we used to go through a chain coffee shop drive-through and sit and natter over a quarantinachino in her car. I really missed just chatting over coffee!

My friends and I often sat in a seafront shelter with a takeaway coffee, freezing but happy to see each other. Then realising we were dying for a wee and all the public toilets were shut
