Toilet Roll v Tissues

It has long bothered me.

Why can you put loo roll down the toilet but we are told not to put tissues down there?

I sometimes use toilet roll instead of a tissue but can't do the reverse ..

Tissues? Do you mean baby wipes? Never heard of no tissues down the toilet.

Wipes and kitchen roll and tissues don’t breakdown like bog roll and go on to cause blockages.

Bog roll is fragile, I’m sure we’ve all been there

No tissues down the loo apparently. ..

Surely there is an informed tissue manufacturer on fab who can put this matter to rest .

Toilet roll disintegrates…..just think about when you blow your nose with toilet paper - it falls apart whereas tissue does not.

Tissues for noseblowing (etc) are designed to hold firm against moisture. As such, they’re harder to break down in the loo.

Toilet tissue is less hardy and better for flushing.

I think wipes have some kind of plastic type material in them that stops them from beaming down.

Only toilet roll should go down the toilet. Even so called flushable wipes are too strong to flush, they block up the pumps that pump the sewage to the main sewer line. Also they combine with fats and cause fatbergs which then cause major blockages. This can all cause sewage to come back up the pipes and into your house, if your house in a lower lying position relative to your neighbours.

The water companies do the bare minimum of maintenance. Most of the assets are falling apart as they are more interested in the extraction of profits for the investment companies that have bought the water industry, and seeing as they have a monopoly there is no other option for the vast majority of 'customers'.
