Fareham

A planet has been detected around a dying star over 100 light years from Earth.

Despite the faint glimmer of the white dwarve the planet is in a potentially habitable orbit around the star.

Could this eventually be our first glimpse of alien life and what would it be like for them knowing their sun’s nuclear fuel is running out?

Probably not. A white dwarf is the remnant of a main sequence star (similar to our sun) after it has run out of fuel and has shed it's outer most layers. This comes after a period of of expansion where the star expands into red giant, effectively cooking the planet as it's photosphere gradually gets closer. When the red collapses it will then shed its outer layers leaving just the dead core, this would be so bad for any life still remaining on the planet and would certainly be its demise.

Indeed professor but scientists are betting on life that may have emerged after the star burst.

They are? I'm not sure why, there wont be much of an atmosphere left, if any.
