How do you keep yourself motivated to do things?

I'm finding it hard to keep motivated with uni

I tell people what my goal is, and then try not to let them down by failing to reach it, that keeps me on track with many things

Same as the fine fellow above.

I tell people what I intend to achieve, it keeps me accountable to them, and motivated to attain those goals

I tell people my goals and what I want to get out of uni but it's just pushing myself to do the work

I struggle with motivation quite a lot. Usually I just give myself a little pep talk, a kick up the arse and get on with it. Usually once I get started it’s never as bad as I thought it was going to be.

Once I get started there's no stopping me. But it's just getting started haha

Procrastinator huh - me too.

Set mini goals, no more beer until you do X. But yourself new kicks when you hand in essay X. 2 hours on this research and I’ll have 30 mins to hunt tits and ass on Fab, etc

I enjoy motivating females (holding them accountable) with spankings.

Is 30 mins sufficient, per day?! Or pet every 2 hours?!

Break down the work/reward. Short term benefit of short term work, see how it builds into medium and longer term

Dubai & Nottingham

Motivation is dependant on mood , short term and really believing in what you’re doing, long term.

It’s best to embrace your moods , plan different types of activity for highs and lows rather than trying to artificially create motivation. I find shorter days, reading and relaxing good for lows and longer days, networking, analysis, and group project work , workshops etc better for highs.

But….Long term, you only succeed if you learn to do things you don’t always enjoy, and that others put off, this is what separates successful and unsuccessful people

So make sure you commit only to the right things in general, so that you can find extra power to do the above when you need to

Hope that helps
