Worst Film Sequels

Somewhere In The Ether…

Let’s face it, great films are not always requisite of sequels but there’s simply no point in telling this to avaricious studio executives who, with dollar signs ablaze in their greedy eyes, invariably hurry to green light and shoe horn them any way.

With this in mind, good folks, what in your opinion is the worst (or possibly most unneeded) film sequel ever made?

I’ll get the ball a rolling with the utterly embarrassing, Highlander 2 which reeked like a turd in a microwave!

"Grease 2!"

I remember some of the awful songs in that including, ‘Reproduction’ and ‘We’re going to score tonight.’ *shudder!*

Also Maxwell Caulfield must have surely honed his acting skills in a forest judging by his wooden performance….And how did he go from not even being able to ride a motorbike to full on Evel Kneivel in about a week of practice?!

Mortal Kombat 2.

Ok so the first one wasn’t a masterpiece by any stretch of the imagination but it was at least fun (and that techno soundtrack was bloody awesome, right?)

The sequel however……Christ on a pogo stick!

Terminator: Dark Fate.

So let me get this straight; despite being a soulless, android killing machine, Big Arnie suddenly develops remorse for murdering John Connor and subsequently changes his name to Carl and becomes a family man?(!!!!) Er….Wtf?!!

Also, prior to watching this film, I had no idea that Humvees can apparently drive around freely underwater(!!!) Wow! One learns something new everyday….

But that theme song by Elton John over the montage of film stills over the end credits redeems it all.

"Blair witch 2"

There’s another script to this film which would’ve been really interesting. Unfortunately the studios got in the way again and created a mess of a film.

Saw a YouTube video discussing the film and rewrites. Unfortunately I watch so many I can’t remember which channel I saw it on.

But the original idea for a sequel certainly looked a lot better than the film produced.
