Sexuality...... where are you?

In a ball gown because that's how we roll in N. Devon

I'm curious (nosey) how people see themselves.

I see sexuality as a broad spectrum. At the one end, people absolutely "straight". No sexual attraction to someone of the same sex. A man/woman who has never looked at another man/woman and thought "hmmm.... I feel a funny tingle". The other, people absolutely "gay", someone who has never looked at a member of the opposite sex and thought "oooh.... I want to touch".

(Other thoughts are likely, they were just what came into my head)

And in between those two ends..... everyone else.

So my question is, where do you think you sit most of the time?

My dynamic is real odd well I think so anyway

Like is in dateing and realships woman

When it comes to guys it’s just prue sex

Mind you that’s not to say I wouldn’t

They just don’t seem to stick around all that long to find out if dateing would be my thing with them

Bi-sexual not bi-curious - in that I find both sexes attractive, bi curiosity to me is someone who likes the idea of being with someone of the same sex and bi sexual is someone who has acted upon that curiosity.

That said I enjoy woman solely on a sexual basis - I wouldn’t embark on a relationship with a female but I would with a man so I’d say I’m more 70/30 in favour of the cock!

It turns out the closest explanation for me is Pansexual. The more I find out about it the more I think yep. That’s me. It’s a lot of fun actually.

I think that's a sad fact, that it takes a while for some people to realise that bi women absolutely aren't bi for the amusement of others.

I love that you're no longer in the straight closet though, it's always better to be who you are and just ignore or slap the people who try to get a performance.

I agree with this entirely. The options on Fab don't accurately reflect where I am sexually. Having said that, there are so many nuances and 'branches' to sexuality that it would be an impossible task to have a list covering them all.

I’ll never marry a man or be his ‘girlfriend’ for a long term relationship. However I do fantasise about the sexual element of that weekend away.

As a man I’m attracted to women but occasionally do find a feminine younger guy attractive. As a TV it’s mainly men I want to attract and have fun with.

So 60/40 women over men.

I suspect when I get older and my drive starts to diminish, those levels will change.

I have never believed in purely gay or straight, mostly because I don’t believe in putting labels on people. I have always said you fall in love with the person rather than the gender, although you’re normally going to have a preference.

I think the multi labelling is odd given the LGBT+ community has always fought against labelling.

I understand people wanting to know what they are sort of, but when it all comes down to the bone, people are simply attracted to who they are attracted to

I consider myself predominantly straight, but I have played with women before to answer your original question, but I do love cock too much to be much else.

Oh Posh, I didn't mean from you! I hadn't even read the other comments or seen any of the comments about labels. It's just something I often experience whenever I use any sexuality label outside of straight, gay or bisexual. It seems to be an issue that only ever comes up regarding sexualities outside of these or genders outside of man and woman.

Personally I like labels. I spent a lot of my teens very confused and feeling abnormal. Not only has learning new labels helped me to understand myself better but it's been comforting to know there's enough people who feel the same that there's a name for us.

I think often the problem isn't the label but people's black and white views. I use the label of woman. That will lead to a lot of assumptions about me but really it doesn't actually tell you a great deal. It's always going to be a combination of labels that helps to paint a picture.

Find men and women attractive including transgender. Would be sexual with either, or a relationship with either, if I wasn't already in one.

Not sure what the label is for that.

I'd say I'm at a different point on the spectrum depending on the situation.

I've been in a threesome with a MF couple and definitely fancied her and not him, but still get turned on watching his hard cock sliding into her.

In that situation I'd happily suck him off, but I wouldn't want to kiss him and I wouldn't want to hold his hand under a moonlight sky.

I can see if a guy is good looking or not, but I'm not physically attracted to men, whereas I'm attracted to women, who on the whole are generally quite gorgeous!!

So in summary, cock fun yes, kissing and romance with owner of said cock, no.

Where does that place me on any scale???

"I'm curious (nosey) how people see themselves.

I suppose I'm what you'd call bi-playful. My Mistress introduced me to MM sex a few months, ago and I quite enjoyed it, but the main turn in for me was her reaction.

I wouldn't be interested in meeting a guy on my own, but if I'm in a club or playing with swinging friends I'll gladly suck or take a cock.

So, who's coming to Spicy's Bi Night at Jaydees on Friday 4th March! "

I think you've defined the spectrum pretty well really.....

I would say 90% straight. I've only ever had or wanted relationships with men.

But since starting on fab I have played with a few women when we've met couples and I have enjoyed it. I think perhaps the more I do it and get used to it the more I can relax and just enjoy it even more. But it has to be the right situation. I can't just do it like a performing monkey.

I can appreciate a beautiful woman, but I don't get the same lust as I can with a gorgeous man. It's more a situational thing for me. If there's a naked playful woman in front of me I might want to kiss and touch

"Bi-sexual not bi-curious - in that I find both sexes attractive, bi curiosity to me is someone who likes the idea of being with someone of the same sex and bi sexual is someone who has acted upon that curiosity.

That said I enjoy woman solely on a sexual basis - I wouldn’t embark on a relationship with a female but I would with a man so I’d say I’m more 70/30 in favour of the cock!

Xx"

"Heterosexual commonly used by those whom know who understand what they are...no confusion"

Few people are confused as to what they are, the confusion arises from labels that don't reflect reality and don't fit the person's nuanced sexuality.

But I don't think everyone will be able to understand that point as they don't all have such a nuanced sexuality and just can't see it.

"Sexually I am Bi-Sexual, love and appreciate being with both men & women. In terms of dating, I only want to be in a relationship with a man so I guess I'm straight that way. "

I can relate to that as well. I think sometimes society (when they acknowledge that people aren't purely heterosexual, which a lot of the time doesn't happen still) expects that someone who is attracted to both men and women expects that the person will be equally attracted to a relationship as well as sexy times. Which just isn't the case for a lot if people.

Hence spectrum....

"I’ve pretty much travelled up and down the scale my whole life.

When I first joined here, I was so horrified that bi women were little more than performing seals that I was fab straight for years. I now see doesn’t have to be the case.

It turns out the closest explanation for me is Pansexual. The more I find out about it the more I think yep. That’s me. It’s a lot of fun actually.

I'm all about the D HOWEVER I am leaning towards wanting to play with a lady, nothing in return, I just want to touch. I fully appreciate women and the female form turns me on more than men odly for a straight person. In short I want to play with women but I only want a man to play witb me I'm all confusselled "

I get that. I spent a long time confoosed myself. I'm very much *shrug* these days. And go with the flow.

Why do you think you wouldn't want a woman to play with you? Or do you think that might change in a situation?

Ah I was talking about spectrums (autism and neurodivergence, sexuality) with a friend the other day. She described it as not being quite linear, more like a circle. It's hard to explain without her rubbish drawing to go with it.

Anyway, I'm demi, panromantic and sexual. Right now I'd say I'm leaning more towards men in terms of romantic connections but that fluctuates; I was a lesbian before I became pansexual. So yes, it kind of changes. Like me I guess. I find that I agree with and recognise a lot of myself in Lacey's words above.

So 60/40 women over men.

I don't think you've got to have anal to be gay.

The thing that prompted my musing was a conversation with a friend in which he made that point, along with the point that you can be bisexual without ever acting on a same sex attraction. Which, embarrassingly I'd never thought about.

And I love the fact that you don't pigeon hole yourself into one, you use a range. Because it stops the label being as restrictive (if that makes sense).

I do object to the word "woke". But that's because I'm old

I wasn't taking it personally Lacey, don't worry

I completely agree a combination of labels helps, due to the black and white nature of people's thinking and in fact the black and white nature of a label.

I do understand entirely when people (yourself included) like a label. It can definitely engender a feeling of belonging and of not being "odd" and that's wonderful. That's why I'd never say labels are bad, purely that I object to them for me.

I don't have enough knowledge about labels really to be able to put enough on myself to give a rounded idea. I've got some googling to do to understand better two of the terms you've used for example.

I think the best way to understanding (ourselves and others) is conversation and curiosity. Without it the world is too black and white. And segregation isn't a good thing most of the time.

I find that the other good thing to them is that they serve to reclaim space. That is, what has been considered "normal" so far (straight, cis) is assumed to color the overwhelming majority of the people. Adopting another label for yourself is an active act of coloring yourself differently, and it feels like reclaiming your space in the world. At least to me

If there's a naked playful woman in front of me I might want to kiss and touch "

I think that's quite usual for a lot of us to be honest.

I always wonder if women are encouraged to be able to appreciate each other's form and beauty more than men are these days as much as when I was younger, or if it's more socially acceptable for guys to do so now.

Also.... interesting

Not really sure. I’m definitely a female. I am romantically attracted to men and prefer to have sexual play with men but I am open to sexual play with females.

No labels needed, if you are comfortable with how you identify (m/f/trans/whatever makes you happy) and we have some chemistry I am more than happy to get coffee and maybe play if I was looking for that.

I think the internalised homophobia that is part of toxic masculinity still has a massive effect on men.

I just don't find males in the least bit attractive . Far too many beautiful women out there to worry about men lol

Also I couldnt stand being rejected by men as well as women "

Serious question though. If you watch porn, do you only watch porn with women in it or do you watch porn with men in it too? (Couples, groups, gangbangs). I'm not questioning whether you fancy the guy (You've clearly said you don't) but I wonder if you get turned on by watching a guy fuck a woman?

Not judging, just curious.

I class myself as 100% straight but lesbian porn doesn’t really do it for me. Women kissing and touching each other does but anything more and I lose interest.

I don’t think I watch straight porn to look at the man but it’s more to imagine myself in that situation.

I think it was Lacey who said something about labels being useful to understand your own feelings and situation which I think is 100% correct. Find whatever terms work for you to give you confidence to be yourself.

I personally just don’t see a need for labels to be used outside of your own relationship with yourself because sometimes the pressure of people trying to pigeonhole you into a certain box can be detrimental to your own thoughts.

I’d rather someone be comfortable and confident in themselves and be happy than be anguished about what they should identify as to the outside world.

Interesting, thanks for commenting.

But this is the point I am trying to get deeper into.

If the man wasn't in the scene, you could still imagine yourself there, in the situation. But because the man is in the scene, it seems better for you and that's why you watch that genre.

Again, I'm not suggesting you fancy the guy or want to have sex with them, but their presence there in the film adds to your sexual enjoyment of it. Couldn't that be considered just a part of 1%??

"It's complicated so here's a bunch of labels that give a rough picture. I await the meltdowns about labels, woke culture, millenials, etc.

*deep breath*

Fluctuating

Aceflux

Demisexual

Homoflexible in terms of physical attraction

Biromantic but leaning more towards men - maybe 80/20

No meltdown here..... you know I'm no fan of labels but that's for me. Anyone who wants to pop one or more on themselves should rock on.

And I love the fact that you don't pigeon hole yourself into one, you use a range. Because it stops the label being as restrictive (if that makes sense).

I do object to the word "woke". But that's because I'm old

And segregation isn't a good thing most of the time."

Phew!

I totally agree with that. When it comes to yourself you get the final say. It's the people who dismiss less commonly known sexualities and genders completely under the guise of "why do we need to label everything" while happily labelling themselves with commonly known sexualities and genders that upset me mostly. Though it is also upsetting when those who reject labels for themselves feel the need to impose that onto others too.

It's not something I think is necessary but there are often times in my life it is useful to be able to express my sexuality at least roughly in words. There's also the fact that people at least mostly understand how strictly heterosexual and strictly homosexual people work. People often don't understand how I do. Even I didn't for a long time. People I'm involved with or date can get upset because my attraction doesn't work in typical or even predictable ways. Having an identity helps me to find resources that help me both to understand myself and to help others understand too. Finding the terms I related to helped me to find communities of others like me which meant there were people I could ask for advice about certain feelings or related issues. No not every who uses a particular label is the same but we have enough commonality and there will be people in a group of us who feel similar. I guess it's like with swinging. Not all swingers are the same but if you thought you might be a swinger or had questions about singing related issues, you would probably get a better answer by finding this place.

Labels are just that, a quick reference guide. Very few people will fit in to a single label exactly at its most extreme form.

They overlap and at times appear to contradict.

I tend to be closer to demisexual, I don't require a hard defined romantic connection like quick Google searches will return saying. But I do need a connection that is more than just physical, and more than "we get on well".

Sometimes that connection will form quickly, or sometimes it will take a while. But it is required for me, physical attraction is just as important too.

This is an interesting question.

Carnal desires are just as fluid as sexuality, I'd happily watch a man fucking a woman and be aroused. But imagining me fucking that woman as him doesn't arouse me.

Definitely bisexual. My female cousin taught me how to kiss when I was mid teens, I didn't think it was wrong at the time. Not sure how I'd feel if that happened to my daughter. I didn't know any different at the time, I'm not sure if that is what set the spark for me.

I had a fanny flutter over a woman I saw walking past me on the beach on my honeymoon! She was mixed race, very tall and slender, walked with such sass and confidence I remember not being able to take my eyes off her.

I did go through a phase of thinking I was a lesbian after a few disappointments with men.

Still love cock though!

"I'm curious (nosey) how people see themselves.

"

I don’t really make any attempt to pigeonhole myself. I fancy some people, I don’t fancy others.

I don’t fancy all women, but I fancy a lot of them.

I don’t get aroused at the sight of men, but I have had some great sexual experiences with me, due to good technique.

And I find some t-girls very attractive and have had some mindblowing experiences with t-girls.

Not sure what that makes me, nor do I care what label anyone wants to put on that.

I’m imagining I’m replacing the man in the scene so without him there it would just be solo porn which I would enjoy but for different reasons.

I’m comfortable around naked men. I kind of have to be for our dynamic to work. I’ve never once thought about touching the other man sexually other than the unavoidable. If that’s 1% then so be it.

"Heterosexual commonly used by those whom know who understand what they are...no confusion

Few people are confused as to what they are, the confusion arises from labels that don't reflect reality and don't fit the person's nuanced sexuality.

But I don't think everyone will be able to understand that point as they don't all have such a nuanced sexuality and just can't see it.

Gbat"

I understand and when people say labels it's only those whom are unable to accept reality use the term labels we all have these if wanted to be branded as one but it's about acceptance and respecting each others values then it's not a label

"Ah I was talking about spectrums (autism and neurodivergence, sexuality) with a friend the other day.

That's something that I think many people find. As we grow, learn and experience new things, so we change. Makes sense that our desires might as well.
