You have to watch them in chronological order starting with captain america the first avenger. Look the order up on Google

Some are better than others...

My personal faves are the first two Captain America movies. (The Winter Soldier is arguably regarded as probably the best Marvel movie or top three at least...), Black Panther, the first Thor, Dr Strange, and I was pleasantly surprised by the first Ant Man...

I might be in a minority here, but whilst not wholly successful, I really liked Eternals...

Captain America is a bit of a bore tbh (personal opinion ...other options are also valid)

Avengers End Game - best

Spider-Man no way home - 2nd best (tear jerker)

Dr Strange - 3rd best

I can’t be doing with them anymore. I’ve reached saturation point. I’m sure the last few I watched all pulled off the same gimmick of having a friend or mentor betray them and turn out to be the bad guy.

I’ve turned my attention to 40s/50s classics and foreign cinema to get my movie fix as there’s too much 80s/90s reboots and comic book movies in mainstream cinema now.

Same. After endgame or whatever it was called I'm done seeing them in the cinema. I'll catch them on streaming.

Although not marvel, I will see batman at the cinema.

All the TV shows prior to WandaVision can be skipped, and should be. They are inconsequential to the main plot, and it is highly up for debate if they can even be considered canonical material (multiverse stuff aside, which changes things but still very much not required viewing) and in all honesty their inclusion hurts the main mcu timeline.

As stand alone projects they are fairly decent though.

I would recommend watching all the previous Spider-Man films before watching No Way Home! There’s three with Tobey Maguire and two (alas!) with Andrew Garfield. They’ll help make sense of everything that happens in No Way Home.

It was good, I liked it. But I liked Loki 2 when most give it a bad rating. I quite liked Black Widow, I did think Eternals was better although I’ve only seen each once so need a rewatch.

I really enjoyed Hawkeye! And Falcon and Winter Soldier but Wandavision and Loki were both super original and different.

Yes, well all the TV shows that came before WandaVision and onwards. Once you get to WandaVision on the timeline, the TV shows released since are important to the whole mcu story.

"Blade was 1st marvel film released "

Captain America - 1944

Spiderman - 1977

Dr Strange - 1978

Captain America - 1979

Captain America II - 1979

Howard the duck - 1986

Incredible hulk returns - 1989

Trial of the incredible hulk - 1989

The punisher - 1989

Captain America - 1990

Death of the incredible hulk - 1990

Blade - 1998

X-men - 2000

None of the above were made by Marvel studios.

The first Marvel Studios movie was Iron Man - 2008

So Blade unfortunately can not take the title of 1st marvel movie in any sense with the exception of being the 1st Marvel character movie to be taken seriously.

The trouble with watching them in the order they “should” be watched is that you’re sadly watching some excellent films mixed in with some slightly shite and quite frankly extremely dated looking films.

That spoils it for me.

"Some are better than others...

My personal faves are the first two Captain America movies. (The Winter Soldier is arguably regarded as probably the best Marvel movie or top three at least...), Black Panther, the first Thor, Dr Strange, and I was pleasantly surprised by the first Ant Man...

I might be in a minority here, but whilst not wholly successful, I really liked Eternals..."

Agreed Antman and Dr Strange were a surprise to me, really good films for comic book fans.

"All the TV shows prior to WandaVision can be skipped, and should be. They are inconsequential to the main plot, and it is highly up for debate if they can even be considered canonical material (multiverse stuff aside, which changes things but still very much not required viewing) and in all honesty their inclusion hurts the main mcu timeline.

As stand alone projects they are fairly decent though. so I’m best just sticking to the films ?

Yes, well all the TV shows that came before WandaVision and onwards. Once you get to WandaVision on the timeline, the TV shows released since are important to the whole mcu story. "

Not necessarily Agents of SHIELD runs along side average in fact fall off the Triskelion takes place in agents off shield we see apart off it in the movie but the majority off it happens on shield

Ah that's why you don't look at them as movies, and just as part of the larger story.

Having been the comic book kid growing up, I'm able to see them as just a story playing out, I can look past the visual. The generally amazing continuity (though not perfect) for a pretty complex universe across each movie is unrivaled and very likely won't be replicated is a large part of what makes it what it is. The marvel hype train is slowing down for sure but it is still going strong with true lightning in a bottle.

As for watching the credit scenes, it depends on the order you watch the movies. In release order its fine, in chronological order some of the credit scenes have spoilers for movies that have not happened.

Black Widow's for example has a huge spoiler for endgame because it was released after, but takes place prior to it.

Yes without the first 3 blade films, the MCU universe may well not have existed, it will be a welcome return for blade as its is due for release during this phase.

But it's inconsequential, and does not need to be seen, and for the most part after that point the show and movies have very little if anything to do with each other.

Kevin Feige has hinted at how much he dislikes the shows made by Marvel TV (have noting to do with his own vision for the mcu) .

He distances himself from them without openly saying it.

They are now just one part of the multiverse and not main mcu canon.

A certain character in the movies has been hinted at as being Mockingbird agent 19. Throwing entire parts of agents of shield to not make sense.

Marvel only made $25,000 from Blade.

It however, as I say, was taken seriously and thus the first Marvel character movie to be a commercial success. It indeed did open the door for what followed with Fox's Xmen and Sony/Raimi Spiderman.

Between them selling almost their entire roster of popular characters and the income from the merchandise generated from the none marvel studios movies they were able to scrape a studio together and take a chance with Ironman.

I love Blade, both as a movie and character, but it's given far too much credit. But certainly not undervalued.

"Blade was 1st marvel film released

Captain America - 1944

Spiderman - 1977

Dr Strange - 1978

Captain America - 1979

Captain America II - 1979

Howard the duck - 1986

Incredible hulk returns - 1989

Trial of the incredible hulk - 1989

The punisher - 1989

Captain America - 1990

Death of the incredible hulk - 1990

Blade - 1998

X-men - 2000

None of the above were made by Marvel studios.

The first Marvel Studios movie was Iron Man - 2008

So Blade unfortunately can not take the title of 1st marvel movie in any sense with the exception of being the 1st Marvel character movie to be taken seriously.

Agreed, I was just pointing out that due to the earnings of the blade movies, marvel were able to buy a studio and promote their own films, leading to the ever great mcu.

Only 25,000, was that because they had to use other production companies wow, but yeh blade is my go to guy along with spidey, if you have Disney I came across the old Spiderman cartoons and found the one with spider and blade fighting against morbius which is a movie soon to be released.

"I’m enjoying them all up to now even though I’m early into them got a lot of catching up to do x"
I obviously watched them as they came out in release order... remember to add the series in too.

I have watched the recently again in both chronological order and release order. The end credits only make sense when watching in release order

Not necessarily Agents of SHIELD runs along side average in fact fall off the Triskelion takes place in agents off shield we see apart off it in the movie but the majority off it happens on shield

How can it not be main mcu cannon when they literally had special gust parts come in form the movies "

Same way as plenty of other things get changed, it's called a retcon. The multiverse concept literally gives them free reign on it. As the show went on, it and the movies distanced more and more for each other for that reason.

As I say, the character of Agent 19/Mockingbird being introduced retcons and completely destroys a big part of the show.

But Fisney do own the rights to agents of shield. they had from the start and created it.

But it was not under Marvel Studios but instead Marvel TV. Which now no longer exists and is under the single banner of Marvel Studios. Headed by Kevin Feige.

Kevin Feige hates the way that Shield went because it does not work within in with his MCU layout and narrative, he had very little part in the show. He also greatly dislikes Jeph Leob, the one who was head of Marvel TV. It was at the time a failed attempt to link the movies to the show and got abandoned pretty much after season 2, with a slight nod once Age of Ultron was released.

As the show went on, it became "better" for it because it didn't have to align with the movies.

It destroyed the Inhumans angle, thankfully it has not destroyed Ghost Rider since there are multiple incarnations of him.

Bottom line is all the Marvel TV shows prior to WandaVision have zero impact upon the movies other than an expansion upon CA: Winter Soldier.

Travelling

The MCU, the only franchise that requires you to watch 20 years of movies across 3 studios and multiple franchises to make sense in 2022

"You can skip the iron man films and Thor dark world"

As much as I agree they are the lower points of the MCU they all hold parts of the full story. Shame really the dark world was not good at all

Not quite sure how you could say The Iron Man movies can be skipped because essentially (avoiding spoilers) the infinity saga is pretty much about the journey that Tony Stark has been on. Without seeing him in the first 2 movies (or any other) you really don't get the full picture and character development.

Same goes for Thor: The Dark World really. Hell, End Game has an entire section devoted to a part of that movie and its events specifically. It is another huge part of Thor (and Loki) as a character.

And does anyone have a clue where 'Phase 4' is heading as in what will connect them together? They all seem to be going in their own direction. I am watching DS2 this week and haven't seen MK yet but MK doesn't answer any kinda questions and probably leaves you with more questions I've been told.

I've revisited a few Marvel films over the past six months and found them to be even more underwhelming than before. Maybe because I find they work less well as stand alone pieces. Some I question if they were even necessary at all as they add so little overall. Having said that, I am always interested in watching them, just that there is less and less of a rush these days as it is curiosity rather than excitement which is the main driver.
