I remember reading a post on here a few days ago concerning somebody contacting the police and wanting phone numbers of admin as part of the crime report. I now can't find it.

But to my need to post.

Over the last few days I've been getting sick text messages from guys clearly off here wanting to do me harm.

I'm in that situation like the other person where I have had to contact the police and report things. Its not just the messages. I can delete them but I've been followed at night by guys I recognise from pics on here. Guys I've chatted to on here. Fortunately guys I've never had a meet with. . It's come to the point where I have no choice but to leave fab.

I don't need this in my life.

Maybe my age has made me a little nieve about things in general.

Maybe I see it as my fault for being so open with guys off here and trusting some with my number.

I just know that it can't continue.

I take it you reached the face pic exchange stage in your messaging? It’s just that I wouldn’t be able to recognise you from your profile pics.

Really sorry to hear this has happened to you, and more than once too. This behaviour is shocking and inexcusable.

So sorry to hear about this. No one should have to put up with that sort of behaviour and the fear it causes.

Just wondering how they know whereabouts you are, so they are able to follow you?

I never give out my exact location for safety reasons. It's a sad world when we feel we can't trust anyone isn't it.

I hope you have plenty of friends around you to support you.

There are some good people on fab though

As for numbers old phone and pay and go sim works best if anything gose wrong ditching the sim

No need to explain to close friends and family you need a change off numbers

If safety is a concern meet in a public place

When leaving taxi even if it’s just for 3 or 4 streets down hard to fallow if you get in a taxi

And then get out 10 streets down and make your way home

Never meet at your home or there’s

Hotels and very public ones at that

Like premier inns

Alway book room in your name recorded off you being there

Also don’t tell them to just come up

Go down and outside the hotel and meet them

There’s cameras everywhere they will pick you up walking in with the person they will pick you up in the lift they will pick you up Geting out the lift and walking to your room

Also if it’s really bad

Book a disability room there’s a pull string in the toilet for emergency if they fall or such

If this go wrong in the room get to the toilet and pull it

They be straight up

The person In question knows I'm a student in Liverpool and I guess he walked around the different student areas to locate Me.

I have every sympathy with the OPs situation and agree with most of the advice given, but please don't book disability adapted hotel rooms unless you actually need them. There's usually very few such rooms and people with disabilities who genuinely need them can often struggle to book any type of suitable room. Please don't misuse the disability adapted rooms.

I don’t know who this was as they’ve gone now but this is unacceptable behaviour from men.

You have done nothing wrong at all. This is male predatory behaviour that has to stop.

Women are just as entitled as men to be on these sites living the life they want to and should be able to do it without fear of harassment or violence against them.

It really makes my blood boil that the ownership of personal safety is continually put onto women to act a certain way, dress a certain way and not their perpetrators and punishing them correctly when it happens or better yet calling out and stopping their behaviour in the first place.

The reason I don't send a face pic first is because I was recognised in my neighbourhood and followed to my daughter's, where he tried to stop me closing the door by putting his foot in it.

Yes but that’s the problem there is no appropriate alarm that’s whare I am going

Normal hotel room don’t have any

Well maybe, in light of the Sarah Everard case, people should be demanding this of hotels. One thing is sure. Talking about it in here will change nothing.

Many police constabulary's recommend the HollieGuard app. Which is probably more use than a pull in a toilet, which you may not be able to get to.

"HollieGuard is an app that can track a person’s location as they make their way home, as they’re out jogging or cycling, or simply going about their day to day tasks.

If they feel unsafe, all they need to do is shake their phone to send an alert to a group of contacts to warn them that they may be in danger. Once the phone has been shook, it will then start recording both audio and visual footage of what’s happening around them.

This will be saved and sent to their contacts so they can see what is happening, and call the police or ambulance service if they are required.

If the phone is shook again, a flashing light and high-pitched beeping will start coming from the phone to alert people nearby that that person may be in danger."

We will have to agree to disagree. If in a hotel room and your being attacked the chances of an attacker allowing you into a lockable room are severely slim. However, the chances of a disabled person not being able to have a night away, or use a normal room and injure themselves and be laid on a floor for ages is more probable. If time was an issue as you state you could have the call go directly to the hotel reception so you'd be in the same position as the alarm.

Same method can be sed for a phone

Likely if your in a hotel room your phone would be in a bag or on a dressing table

Those apps are awesome they grate at what they do but they only grate at catching I dose not stop it it’s still going to ruin someone life

A shot to the privates will by you that time to get to a bath room

A shot to the privates will not by you the time to fumble around with a bag set your phone off still no one’s comeing to help all that’s apps going to do is capture the most horrible time in a person life

I don't blame the OP leaving the site after what happened to him. This is shocking and unacceptable behaviour. It really makes me think about ever meeting anyone on here again. Our safety is so important. Please take care out there everyone x

I could have gone to the police about a threatening note through the post one day. It really shook me up. It was about six months ago now and I've not had another but I do still have it x

Shocking! They have too much time their hands. I didn't even give out my full address, just postcode and flat number but obviously clocked the street name and found out the rest. It was weird the way the envelope was written too, the person even drew a line under each line of my address and put Scotland! Nobody does that here
