If you were thinking of getting a Chinese takeaway - don’t because they’re closed for two weeks, at least all the best ones are

Happy CNY to all who celebrate it. I have a particular warmth for Cantonese Hong Kongers, with various individuals over the years showing me kindness since a little boy. A hard working and tolerant group of people, asset to this country

My Thai VP informed us a couple of days ago that we shouldn't refer to it as Chinese New Year, it's Lunar New Year...it can be offensive to non Chinese people who also celebrate it. I wasn't aware of this, but every day is a school day.

So,happy lunar new year to anyone who celebrates it

I forwarded this to my British born Cantonese friend and she said:

“Whichever you like to call it I guess depending on that person. I've always known and call it chinese new year. I think some non chinese people celebrate it as well”

As you said though, every day a school day
