This isn't me but I saw it today and thought it worth mentioning, some guy had been talking on the news about how he and his wife both worked but due to the rising costs of living could no longer afford all their bills and heating. A few days later they had a tanker turn up to fill their heating oil tank - they have no idea who it was that paid. That was really lovely.

Old boy was trying to check his car tyres but the pump at the garage only took cards and he didn't have one, so i swiped mine for him. It cost me 30p, but the look on his face was priceless

I helped a woman who had been touched by some idiot at Glasgow Central station, made sure she got to her station and into a taxi. Hopefully will earn me some brownie points with St. Peter in the future.

Going back a few years. There were a couple who's car had issues with temperature sensor. They never had break down cover and when AA came, the part was £15.00 . I was parked in the next parking spot so I went over and paid for the part.

If you are miffed and reactionary because they didn't thank you then kindness to others was not on your mind your goal was to get praise for yourself.

Now if you want to tell me that you were not performing that act for you then the other person not voicing their thanks doesn't matter....

I generally just open the door without expectation.

Sometimes when I see then whizz past I smile and hope their hurry doesn't mean they've got too much on their plate.

They don't always 'not recognise' through ignorance. Sometimes people are like rabbits in headlights and moving quickly through fear.

If we drop our Oi I opened the door ego..... we feel much calmer inside.

Do it because it's the right thing to do . Don't do it for recognition.

The above is my mantra and kind act of the day

Random guy I didn't in front of me in the queue went to pay and the stores card machine wouldn't work and he didnt have cash. I paid for mine and his.

We sat and had lunch together and never saw each other again.

I like random meets, with the advent of advanced mobile phones we don't seem to talk with strangers anywhere near as much these days.

I read a post elsewhere made by a trans lady excitedly announcing her confirmation surgery date then asking for a lift to and from London…

When I asked who was caring for her after her surgery she admitted no one was.

I’ve ensured I’m available. I’ll collect her from hospital and she’ll stay with me while she recovers. So I have a new friend

The £1 wouldn't come out of the supermarket trolley so I left it for the next person to try and remove.

We met some tourists on a walk and after chatting for a while they mentioned about the country roads and if going the other way was better. We strongly advised against it because of a 25% gradient they'd have to drive up with hairpin bends

gave them directions of an easier way to go and some recommendations for cafés/sandwich spots along the way.

Good man, Big Issue sellers are working so hard trying to sell those magazines they had to purchase in the first place but get ignored by so many people, they are not begging. You probably know that anyway. He was probably genuinely hungry and had not sold enough magazines

The owners of these homes make thousands a month so could easily have paid for a decent system .

There is a coffee shop local to my work, small independent place that does limited food.

They have an option for customers to add a post-it note to their bill, for £2

The note can then be left with others stuck to a shelf for people who really need something but can’t afford it. Some are blank, some are filled with lovely messages.

£2 on the top of my coffee and food is nothing, but can be a lot to someone.

Rescuing a worm from the pavement is a highly commendable act of kindness.

The worm will never thank you but in your heart you know that you enabled it to burrow into soil quickly before it dries or is trodden on.

Your simple act helps everyone as the worm will till the soil, the soil will breathe and plants will grown and animals will eat....

I popped into Morrisons earlier for some ingredients to make my latest culinary masterpiece but was desperate for a wee.

On entering the gents there was a lady cleaning so I went into a cubicle rather than use the urinal to preserve both of our dignity.

Some foul beast had left a big brown tyre track on the bowl side so I directed my high powered penis stream at it and removed it perfectly.

She almost certainly doesn’t realise it but I did that cleaner the greatest of kindnesses

This elderly gentleman came up to me on Tottenham court road, appeared quite lost. He didn't speak a word of English, and I couldn't understand him. Eventually he showed me an address and held up a senior citizen pass. He was trying to get to Whitechapel via bus, and couldn't figure out the next interchange I realized.

I motioned for him to come with me, so we went to the tube station. I enquired with the staff and confirmed his pass would allow travel on the underground so decided It would be easier to take him there myself.

Once we got to the destination station, I could see that he recognized the surroundings and looked relieved. He then pointed at food kiosks nearby and made a gesture like he wanted a drink.

So I was like, ok I guess he is thirsty and I was preparing myself to buy him some water ect.. He goes and speaks to a vendor and the guy hands him a sandwich, water and I'm like ok... now I got to buy him lunch?

So I ask the vendor, do you you understand this old gent? Can you ask what he wants as I just found him at Tottenham court road and brought him here.

So the vendor and co workers translated that the gentleman was very grateful and happy I brought him here and wanted to treat me as a way of saying thank you. I relayed that it wasn't necessary, and that I was happy to bring him here (was relived he didn't end up getting totally misplaced tbh), and just remember me in thoughts and prayers.

So he (and the Vendors) kindly thanked me and I got back to my day.

"This elderly gentleman came up to me on Tottenham court road, appeared quite lost. He didn't speak a word of English, and I couldn't understand him. Eventually he showed me an address and held up a senior citizen pass. He was trying to get to Whitechapel via bus, and couldn't figure out the next interchange I realized.

Once we got to the destination station, I could see that he recognized the surroundings and looked relieved. He then pointed at food kiosks nearby and made a gesture like he wanted a drink.

So I ask the vendor, do you you understand this old gent? Can you ask what he wants as I just found him at Tottenham court road and brought him here.

So he (and the Vendors) kindly thanked me and I got back to my day.
