I'll be in London next month for a few days, and I haven't been there for a while thanks to covid etc.

Does anyone have any recommendations for bars, restaurants, coffee shops etc that are a must go?

Thanks in advance

There are just so many good restaurants, usuly the best ones are hidden in little streets and behind the tourist areas. For exapmle in Covent Garden there are lots on the side and back streets. I have not been for a while but check these out on line and see what you think as for most you have to book in advance but are quite central :

10 Greek Street, Temper, Jugemu or Bocca di lupo in Soho

Barafina , Parsons in Covent Garden

Also, Chicama on Kings Road

Depending on where you're staying, but #1 recommendation at the moment is Eataly in Broadgate (near Liverpool St) - a mix of Italian food market, bars and restaurants under one roof and a lovely way to spend a couple of hours.

Also love Borough Market for more foodie time!

Covent Garden

I agree with Cougs: Sky Garden. But dress warm - it does get very windy and cold up there. But the cocktail bar is impressive.

It depends from where you're alighting in London. The Mad Hatter's Tea Party is worth checking out: The Sanderson Hotel (Berners Street), or anywhere in Mayfair.

A bit out the way but a lovely Italian opposite as you come out of Greenwich station opposite and it has a retail wine section, some really good imports at a good price. Greenwich market is ok too. If you’re that way you can also do a sunset walk over the top of the 02 arena

Hello Bella!

Borough Market is wonderful, while you're there definitely check out Monmouth coffee and the amazing toastie place as you enter (can't remember the name of it but it does incredible raclette). Oh and Host Cafe is delightful. Really beautiful interior, good coffee and pastries.

If you visit Covent Garden, Monmouth coffee and Mildreds (I think you're a vegetarian? Might be wrong about that). There's also The Good Egg in Soho and you can never go too wrong with Ottolenghi's amazingness. I'm really hoping you're veggie now.

Hope you have a brilliant time.

Rules in Maiden Lane, very close to Covent Garden. It's our favourite restaurant. It's the oldest restaurant in London and was frequented by Charles Dickens and others. It has been used in TV programs including Downton Abbey. It's a beautiful place and the food so damn good.
