I got one with my broadband package because for some ridiculous reason it is cheaper to have one than not. The only person who knows my number is my dad.

No option but to use the landline for phone calls as no mobile coverage.

Just using the landline for internet.

Will probably switch to 5G when renewal time is up and lose the landline completely.

No but my parents and older relatives do as they have a deep mistrust of mobiles, so we have to keep a hand set for them to call. Also how on earth would I know that my arrest for National Insurance fraud was imminent?

Yes, only one person the mother-in-law ring's through it though as she doesn't want a mobile phone. So we got it just for her to ring us lol. She still got an a to z phone book with everyone's numbers in it too. X

Yes. We use ours regularly. Mobiles are for when we're out and about. We still use them on PAYG so find the landline convenient and cheaper

I have a landline. I use it daily. Mobile signal is rubbish and nothing everyone I phone has WhatsApp.

Yes, land-lines are (for the most part) far more reliable, and in some areas crucial for how weak signal and service can actually be with a mobile phone.

Having a land-line is a great emergency backup to have. Smartphone breaks, service provider goes down, the need to multitask.

The Facility

I have a landline for emergencies. It has a cord and is attached to the wall. It's really odd having to sit in one place whilst using it but strangely freeing also.

Diagonally Parked in a Parallel Universe

I don't have a physical line to my house, though I do have a landline phone number.

My internet is delivered by fixed access wireless - I have a small receiver dish on the roof, and my 'landline' phone is VOIP. I also have an app on my mobile which means I can answer my landline on my mobile wherever I am.

Same. I gave up using my landline when I was getting constant scam calls on it despite being registered with the TPS. So ditched the phone & just use my free minutes on mobile which is limitless. I think the landline has had its day.

Most Internet deals are not that much cheaper than line and Internet packages so not much incentive to get rid of the line I think unless you use your mobile for everything

Got rid of mine last year when I came to understand I would never have decent broadband due to the physical phone line, no matter the provider (can't get cable).

Moved to 5g broadband and I'm still amazed at how fast it is.
