"My renewal came last week at £566 !! .. from hastings direct , after using comparison sites I got it down to £432 so i phoned up hastings and they amazingly got my premium down to match !! .. always phone around or check the net.. its worth the saving " I do very similar, except if my lowest quote was £432 I'd tell other companies I'd been offered £350. Worked the last two years (advice from a friend who works in insurance sales)

"Hastings quoted me £430 to renew for my Golf gti, but got it for £150ish from Saga. Sometimes it's good to be an old fooker " I have just bought a Japanese import golf cabriolet 1995, I was offered £70 pm with my old insurance company so shopped around through Tescos and got £42 pm with Diamond (about £500 fully comp), Saga wouldn't consider the car at all as its an import. (Sorry I work on per month payments, makes sense for me when I am working out my finances)

"I shop around each time I get a renewal, and funnily enough I find a cheaper deal. If more people shopped around perhaps insurance companies would be less inclined to rip us off. Same goes for home insurance! Knocked £150 off my renewal when I found my current insurer offering a cheaper deal on a price comparison website. " Absolutely and have always used them my home and buildings insurance is about £11.00 pm but don't think anyone could beat that
