Wouldn't they burn up leaving the atmosphere?

Could we perhaps invest in Jaffa cake shaped space suits?

No. Its only as you slow down entering the atmosphere that would cause them to burn up

"Packs of jaffa cakes laid end to end would it take to reach the moon?"

Do you mean the boxes laid end to end or are you lining up the actual jaffa cakes?

As per google

7,118,574,074 – The number of Jaffa cakes that would be required to reach the moon when laid edge to edge. This is based upon a Jaffa cake with a 54mm diameter.

And now this isn’t google I will show how they got that number

The mood is 238855 miles from eather

That’s is 384,399,861,120 mm a Jaffa cake is 54mm

So that’s 384,399,861,120 divided by 54 = 7,118,574,074

No. When packets are laid end to end the jaffa cakes inside are effectively stacked up on each other not side by side

Ok a stander jaffcake box is 32 inches

So that’s 238855 miles to inches is 15133852800

So that’s 15133852800 divided by 32 = 472932900

This Question has a range of answered given that the moons orbit is an ellipse. At perigee (closest) it is 363,104km and at apogee (farthest) it is 405,696km

Jaffa cake, has a diameter of 56m and height of 18mm.

So, from equator to equator, at perigee, when placed end to end it would require 6483999999.98 Jaffa cakes to cross the void. However, when stacked, it would require 20172444444.4 Jaffa cakes - this is the minimum possible.

The maximum required would be at apogee and would be 72445714285.7 (end to end) or 225386666667 stacked.

Hope it helps
