Yes, I do these days. Especially if they look like they need a bit of help or just to check they are OK when something doesn't look right. But sometimes just to pass the time of day. It's pushes me out of my comfort zone but I feels the right thing to do and I think it often makes the world a better place. And by making conversations with strangers it has helped me battle my social anxiety. The more you do a thing the better and more confident you get at it. Plus its often ended in some interesting conversations, some positive outcomes and a couple of times dates over the years.

As for Mrs Misfit x100 yes. I love the way she just sparks up conversations with random people and brings out the best in them everywhere we go.

Absolutely yes… I used to have a lot of anxiety about talking to people I didn’t know and decided I needed to try and do something about it.

I often chat to strangers at concerts or social events now and find it’s helped me be a friendlier person in general

I do, yes. Not all the time, and I have to be in the right mood. But when you have mostly dogs or children to talk to, husband occasionally when he's home then I crave that adult interaction.

When I was younger I used to take the bus to college, ended up chatting to the same person each week. He was widowed and enjoyed talking about his past. I enjoyed listening.

Everyone in the supermarket I shop at were strangers once, now I talk to everyone. It takes ages to get out

(also handy when you need to run to the toilet and can leave your shopping with them)

In real life . All the time, always say hello to people when walking the dog, also start conversation in the pub, we get lots of visitors to local pubs so starting conversation is normal. I even do it in London pubs! (I’m a brave soul)

Yes,,, like loads of times..

I have many rules and limits on doing this, probably most important of these is; if the stranger does not wish to engage in the conversation, apologise for my intrusion, excuse myself and move away with no hesitation or resentment.

Of course some conversations with strangers need to be pressed home whether they wish to engage or not , such as “get off my land, you are trespassing “

And

“ no I will not hand over my handbag, however I will fight you for it if you so wish !”

I do if eye contact is made as in a good morning or afternoon but many Brits only speak to strangers when on holiday, ever noticed how nice everyone is when abroad on holiday but at home not so many pass a pleasant hello.

In my experience depends where instead UK In England, the more South you go the more people tend to keep to themselves or even be pig ignorant. Up North people are more approachable.

Actually I had a lovely lady come up to me in Tesco at the weekend and she complimented my outfit.. I actually looked pretty rough so it made my day. We had a lovely chat about my bargain boots and leopard print mask I was wearing. She said she was perhaps too old and I told she could totally pull of anything she liked to wear that age is irrelevant.

We both went on way feeling a little better about ourselves.

We all talk to strangers all the time, shops, bus stops, planes, trains, holidays, bars, work .... When I used to walk my dog, almosr everyone used to stop and talk. Some of us of course are more chatty than others
