I was at the dentist the other day and had to fill in a questionnaire. I was asked how much alcohol I consumed a week. Surely they should be more concerned with how much sugar?

Fuck knows, injections maybe? Needing to know in case it mingles with the booze and creates a reaction. Or if they need to give you antibiotics perhaps?

Alcoholic drinks such as white wine, beer and cider can be very acidic. This will cause erosion of the enamel on your teeth, possibly leading to pain and sensitivity.

Spirits such as vodka and whiskey are very high in alcohol and will give you dry mouth.

Many mixers and alcopops are high in sugar. This can cause dental decay.

Alcohol can be high in sugar which will affect your teeth, and can be a cause of mouth cancer which your dentist will also check for.
