Now I'm not saying that I'm a girly pansy, but over the last couple of years I've developed a touch of arachnophobia. I'm not bothered by the little little ones, or even the big ones with really skinny legs - it's the big, fat brick spiders with thick hairy legs and a sadistic grin on their face that make me squirm like I'm doing a really bad Mick Jagger impersonation.

I've posted this because as I was working tonight, one of those buggers crawled over my hand while I was typing away on my keyboard - I did actually scream a little bit, in a manly way of course!

Has anyone else developed a phobia later in life that they didn't have when they were younger?

I think it was having one of those "I'm not hungry" days, like a lion walking through a herd of zebra with no intention of attacking (not that I'm a herd of zebra) but you know what I mean

SPIDERWICK UPDATE: The not-so-little bugger only came back for another go! I couldn't take any chances so he's now catching flies in that great web in the sky

Bucks

the only good spider (and any other insect apart from the humble bee) is a squashed one...

dont know why, maybe the understanding we need them to pollenate the flowers but these days i can sit in the garden and not run a mile from a bee lke i used to
