Worst take out ever!

Just had a diabolical take out curry. It was from the most highly recommended curry house in town on Tripadvisor and was just plain awful!

Chapatti like thick old leather, the tandoori mix had sliced chicken and lamb, my mates karahi was like sliced chicken in vaguely spiced gravy (and she asked for extra hot) and they put ketchup on my pakoras!!!

And of course you pay first for a carry out...

what's the worst take out you ever endured?

A Chinese take away from a place recommended by a local when my late partner lived in the town where he worked at the time.

The sweet and sour chicken ball was very doughy and barely cooked through.

The deep fried shredded beef hardly had any beef in them.

The special fried rice was nothing special.

The mixed starter consisted of greasy prawn toast, dry and chewy ribs, soggy spring rolls, even the sea was greasy!

Never again.

I have done, and when they tried to argue the toss I told them I'd stand there and argue back in front of all the customers all night if I had to, they relented and gave me my money back.

I tried the reasonable approach first, quietly mentioning that I had a problem, but the chef went off on one.... so I dug my heels in lol!

Had a few bad ones but also had a crap eat-in at an Indian restaurant in Doncaster. Can't name names here but if you know Donny it's two doors down from where the old Gaumont cinema was,near the Waterdale traffic lights.

Went there in a party of 8, waited 15 mins for table we'd booked. Was ages before our order was taken, food was not very hot (heat wise) and wasn't very nice. Meats were chewy, some rices were not properly cooked. I went upstairs to the loo before the desert order was taken. Came back down & the party had been moved off the table to another one across the aisle - for 'regulars who like only the table we were on!!! I didn't have desert, never do in an Indian. Some who did said it was crap. The bill came to just over £100, we told them we would pay what we was fair for the crap we'd been given. Chucked £20.00 on the table and walked out, waiters came after us, we told them to piss off or else we'd call the police (marvellous how brave you are after a few drinks!!!) then got into cabs and away home.

We can't. We had a few bevvies first so got it delivered (the place is on the other side of an unfamiliar town, we only choose it cos of the good reviews). Oh well, live and learn

A friend of mine was born to an English family while they were in the Forces in Hong Kong. He grew up in the Far East and eventually married a Chinese lady. I once asked him if he liked the Chinese takeaway food here. He said compared to real Chinese food, the stuff here is crap and he and his wife would never ever eat it. They preferred their own home Chinese cooking.

The Chinese take away I frequent is so good that when they moved to another premise, the customers followed, even though the new place is on the other side of town.

They always give me freebie prawn crackers even when I do not spend enough to qualify for the freebie.

It helps that I speak their lingo.

I have the choice of three chinese takeaways in town. Ive tried them all and I can honestly say ive had a better chinese ready meal from the supermarket!!!

To be fair I do live in a small town!

I saw my arse in a Chinese takeaway.

I'd spent £19 and had £20 on me.

Now normally, when you buy meals in a Chinese they thrown in free prawn crackers so I didn't order any.

When they gave me the stuff it was minus the crackers so I looked at the price list and they were £1.10

I had £1

Would they let me have 'em ?

Would they fook !

Not happy. Never went back and never will and told everyone else that would listen about it.

It was about 8 years ago now, but just to show that I never harbour a grudge, the take away in question was Blue Ginger in Springhead, Oldham

I used to live in the indian area of leicester so was spoilt for choice, did have my favourite, id go in order a take away and they would give me a bottle of house wine and a lift home. I guess ive had some not so nice take aways but none stick in my mind as being truelly aweful

Worst I ever had was responsible for my mate and I being down with food poisoning for 2 days! We went back and complained and they couldn't have cared less - said it must have been something else we ate! Complained then to local Environmental Health and unsurprisingly the place was shut down less than a week later and only ever re-opened under new owners! Apparently they received over 50 complaints about the place that week - and the string of EH breaches was LONG!!!

Never been able to face chicken Chow Mein since...

Hmmmmm, there are things I can't cook well myself, like noodle dishes, hence I would order it from take aways or eat at restaurants.

Other dishes are too laborious to make at home, such as shredded crispy duck.

And I do not have patience to make my own spring rolls, prawn toasts or deep fried dumplings etc...

One thing he did say was that a lot of stuff you see on a chinky menu here doesn't exist in China or the islands. It's been invented for European tastes over the years.

Nowadays I have a bi-annual Chinese food fix when I go to Hong Kong to visit my mum, and usually put on a few pounds as a result after a week.

Proper Peking duck with crispy skin, yes!

Worst take-away I'd ever had was from a chinese in Erdington. Me and the now-ex had sweet and sour chicken. They were very sparing with the sweet and sour sauce, and the chicken?

The worst i had was when i was pregnant my hubby bought me a chicken curry and got a kutlama from place in Aston Birmingham,

I didnt eat the curry but did the kutlama and got food poisoning,

Oh my days was i sick couldnt hold anything down for 3 days not even water, i wanted to cry...

A few years ago our chinese take away had a big toenail in it, still with a bit of flesh and blood on it, where it had run into the quick, absolutely gross. Hubby returned it the following evening, received our money back and the chef was walking about with flip flops and a large elastoplast over his big toe.

We get chinese via "just eat" now every time we order we end up with something missing ie rice etc and have to ring back and they bring it out.

As the food is so nice we put up with it.

Last time we ordered we paid by card as always when it turned up the women said the card hadn't gone through

So gave her cash plus tip.

Anyway logged on to the bank and lo and behold it went through on the card!

Rang them up said we wanted or cash back the bloke said he would keep it as credit for us

Rang just eat and explained they demanded the takeaway drove back and gave us the cash back.

Any way decided to chance another one for my birthday at a different takeaway and it was all the same brown colour

My wife drove us back to a Chinese once after finding a daddy long legs cooked into it... They refused to do anything about it despite there being quite a crowd in there. They only changed their minds and gave us a refund when she pointed out loudly that there are his legs, there's his head and there's his crunchy wings!

About half the customers walked out with us
