Kinda in the middle, I’ve started to accumulate a few different collections but I don’t see them getting out of control

My nan’s spare room.

I’m definitely a hoarder but I have to have all the stuff I don’t need in drawers and boxes.

I've kept every book and music CD , vinyl etc since the age of 16, I'd never bin them. Everything else I don't bother hanging onto.

Is there a difference between hoarding & collecting?

I mean I 'collect' thigs like Wine & Lego but, some would class it as hoarding (my ex wife said i used to hoard my wine. I told her no, i collect it).

I'm always putting something away thinking i may use that again sometime...years later still haven't used all the shit i've put away..

So i think i am a hoarder of sorts.

It's all the stuff that goes into the black bin bags that is usually everyone's downfall

Currently looking in my office at home - I'm a hoarder.

I'm not a minimalist by any stretch of the imagination. We don't live on takeaways and cold food in four square feet of our house because the stacks of newspapers, carrier bags full of string and scraps of fabric have taken over the remaining available space either.

"A minimalist or a hoarder or somewhere in between?"

I'm a minimalist (err except tools I've a fetish there), unfortunately my housemate can't throw anything away in case it might come in useful - causes some friction

I'm somewhere in between, depending on the kit or activities.

But by jesus my 2 kids hold on to everything,, and I mean everything,

I like the idea of minimalism, I just keep way too many things, 'just in case'

I don't have room to hoard, unless you class collecting cook books

Is there a subtle difference between ‘hoarder’ and ‘serial killer’ who’s buried all the bodies under the floor…. Asking for a friend….. who sadly died….

I was going to say I hoard lidl power tools and gadgets but I've actually made good use of most of them.

I have a habit when I find a product that suits me or I really like I'll buy more than I need or other related products.

Then I realise what I've done and spend the next year using all those before buying anything else.

Best piece of advice I was given was to bury them in the garden...

I never keep old fridges, washing machines or cookers. They belong in the countryside when they are of no use.
