"Can’t stand the smiths it’s so depressing music to top yourself by so has to be the Cure"

Perhaps the worst arguement for preferring the cure. Listen to Pornography it's much darker than any Smith's album.

I used to be a huge Smith's fan but the music or more specifically Morrissey hasn't aged well.

The Cure,

The Smiths were a great band with some fantastic tracks that will be with us for years. But if you don't like the Smiths, then their songs are similar and you won't like any of them

the Cure, however, give you more variety:

Want epic and lush? Disintegration

Upbeat and poppy? Head on the Door

Dark? Pornography

Spiky and alternative? Three Imaginary Boys

And those aren't necessarily the best albums! Kiss me kiss me kiss me is a barnstormer, and Faith is a mellow voyage. Delve and explore and you will find something you like.

"I like the fact morrissey has his values "

Moz is a narcissistic arsehole.

Had the misfortune to work with him several times- nobody on the crew had a good thing to say about him. His ego is far bigger than his talent, or the venue he thinks he can fill (usually he can't- couldn't even give spare tickets away at one show).

I also had the absolute pleasure of spending quite a lot of time with Smiths bass player Andy Rourke. Lovely bloke, obscenely talented musician who often had me in awe at some of the stuff he'd come out with just noodling on his guitar.

After his death, one of the things Morrisey came out with was

'I suppose, at the end of it all, we hope to feel that we were valued. Andy need not worry about that'

The sheer hypocrisy from a guy who valued him that much he took him to court to keep the extra Smiths royalties for himself.

Andy was far too talented to be a mere 'session musician', Morriesy should consider himself privileged to have been in a band with him

"The Smiths. Easily. I do love Charlotte Sometimes and A Forest though. "
A Forest is perfect.

The Smiths - so many tunes.

How soon is now

Stop me if you think you've heard this one before

There is a light.....

I could go on but I won't (that's a comment not a Smiths song btw)

Got to be the cure, although I like the smiths as I am drawn to music that makes me feel awful

Not a fan of Morissey though, but you don't have to like the guy to enjoy the music.

Smiths all day long but I am from Manchester so biased. But I love both. Who's asking me to choose. Hopefully nobody in a live or die situation ha ha
