Aston on Carrant

I'm thinking to have lodger.

And wondered what will happen to her if I'm on nightshirt.

A lodger obviously lives there...so it doesn't make any difference where you are.

You are trusting someone in your home. They are paying to be there.

Set you boundaries beforehand

A friend of mine took in lodgers to help pay her mortgage after a separation

One was a lovely youngish guy, an orphan, he had a girlfriend who he visited from time to time, a bit lonely, but a pleasure to talk to

Anyway, he wasn't around for a few days and there was a police knock on the door

It was the police

She thought he was dead, but no, they wanted to search his room

It transpired that he wasn't an orphan, his parents were very much alive and well

He also didn't have a girlfriend

The girlfriend was a woman he had been stalking

He followed her and her father to a garden centre, murdered her and critically injured her father

I know it's extreme, but it's always put me off having strangers stay over

My advice? Unless you can't cope financially don't do it.

Yiur home never feels your own. And as someone said boundaries must be set and you have a very real possibility of them taking the piss.

I'm a bit confused because you are a married couple so surely you don't both work nights but even if you do why would that be a problem having a lodger.

I think the OP is suggesting his wife would be at the mercy of the lodger? Kinda creepy unless you all have established boundaries and its all consensual.

But, has the possibility to turn ugly mixing business with pleasure.

The expression "Don't crap on your own doorstep" springs to mind.

Lots of laws about renting rooms in houses means if it goes wrong in any way, you may have a tough time unravelling it.

I suspect that the OP is having a fantasy about his wife shagging with the lodger while he is at work...
