"Cabbabage: I can explain!

Can you can you really "

Yes.

1 I always sang Love and marriage: goes together like onion and cabbage.

2 Peter Gabriel (must have heard me lol) he remade the Solsbury Hill video, where the 'bride' is draped in green dres and leaves, looking pensive as she walks between the the conveyor belts and spinning vertical shafts of cabbage, whilst holding an all green bouquet. (the cabbages look more like giant sprouts on a stalk)

This is at the end of the video and yes I know about how Peter left Genesis and his cabbage patch/mid life crisis. Hence the song.

Why waste all that money just for one day

I get that it's a womens dream to have that big day, but most guys dreams are to have that one car they love but will never get it,

I'm just tring to say I don't think getting married is a big thing anymore and you don't need to prove you love someone by doing it

Getting married doesn't need to be expensive. We got married the year after we finished uni. We had little money but had a great wedding day. We did things ourselves e.g. made menu cards and table place names ourselves. I made necklaces for my bridesmaids and bought bridesmaid dresses from high street shops during the sale. Etc.

This is such a sweeping generalisation. Not all men dream of having a dream car and not all women dream of having a big wedding. It isn’t ‘just one day’ it’s a celebration of the love that two people have found together. People have birthday parties and no one says that’s a waste of money. A wedding is like a birthday party for a relationship. It isn’t about proving your love to the other person, it’s a commitment and a celebration.

I think that's a vast generalisation. Not all women dream of it (I never have), not all men dream to have a fancy car and weddings don't have to cost a bomb. We spend money on what we think is important. For some people, that's a wedding.

My sis in law made the cake, other people donated different bits and pieces etc. In laws gift was to pay for the photographer; other relatives paid for other aspects instead of buying gifts. We didn't ask for gifts at all, although we did receive gifts of money (unsolicited). Our washing machine conked out just after the wedding so we used the money towards a new washer! The washing machine is still going strong, 12+ years later

"Christianity

Hence I'm never getting married "

Actually, you will find religion wasn’t the creation. It was trade deals!

People would marry into position or to agree better terms, I’ll marry my daughter to your son if your village stops attacking our village…

And gay marriages happen many many years ago too…

Religion kinda mucked it all up and streamlined it all

Life.

Best thing that has ever happened to me.

My reason for living.

The thing that resulted in my two greatest achievements and my lasting contribution to humanity.

"My father will never walk me down the isle

God rest his soul

And….

Exactly where do you find men to marry? Ones I meet are flake selfish liars and or emotionally unavailable. Is there a shop somewhere?

And how the hell are some of my friends on their 2nd/3rd marriages and I cannot find no 1?

"

Perhaps they’re not looking for No1,

They’re just looking for anyone.

Newry Down

Firstly, idealisation

Then devaluation and criticism relentlessly

Finally, discardment and ghosting.

All political careers end in failure, as do the majority of marriages!
