Lol, when I was student nurse I was in the last intake to have dresses, as they then brought in tunics and trousers for female nurses too. My ex hubby’s mate was being sleazy and said how I must look like Barbera Windsor, so I pointed out that the dresses weren’t like hers, more like Hattie’s as they were long and not at all fitted. We also didn’t wear belts, hats, heels or stockings, and our cleavages were definitely not on show!

Personally, I was so relieved when they brought trousers in, as the amount of times patients (usually dirty old men) would try to grope you/shove their hands up your dress, was disgusting!

But, this is obviously a light hearted thread, so I won’t rant any further about the amount of times me and my colleagues were sexually assaulted, because we were nurses- including male nurses being groped.

Viv xx

I remember when I was in hospital recovering from an op, I heard a couple of nurses discussing tights or stockings. The slightly older one (and very attractive one) said she always wore stockings. You can imagine what that did to me when I had a bed bath

Had you not quite come round from the anaesthetic when you "heard" this conversation ?

I loathe this whole fetish around nurses and uniforms, i find it totally disrespectful and dismissive of the hard work I've put in to get where I am and continue to do in order to do my job. Any man expressing this sort of infantile, outdated crap is instantly put in the twat category. I'm extremely proud to be a nurse and don't appreciate this kind of neanderthalstic thinking. So please bear this in mind the next time you're salivating over someone based on an image in your head which is outdated and inaccurate.

It wasn't the uniform or the fact she was a nurse, it was just the fact I knew she was wearing stockings under her dress.

I totally agree I have 2 daughters that are both training to be nurses.

its like everything in life theres a time and a place for it

dressing up, fantasy roll play , call it whatever you want, can enhance any sexy bedroom time

but no room for it in the workplace.

its called respect,

its about educating to be respectful.

i for one love a woman in uniform and hold ups who is in my company in my bedroom

but would never insult a woman in the work place

This . There was a post about firemen/policemen etc the other day. Don’t think anyone got their knickers in a twist about that one. Uniforms are a thing, people like them. Just be respectful.

Wait, just when men do it?

Do men in uniform not work hard just the same?

Like with all things, some like it, some don’t.

I do agree there’s a time and a place though.

This post is in relation to females and I responded to that, of course its no more acceptable towards men but I've yet to see the 'benny hill' approach towards male nurses. They tend to get other assumptions made about them which is equally unacceptable in my view but this thread wasn't about that.

Wife wears a dress uniform at work her choice she mostly wears holdups again her choice

Me i wear a tunic and trousers at work

I think scrubs should be kept for places like theatres and such

I like my staff to look professional and ask them to wear uniforms to reflect this

Some like to wear tunic and trousers as long as it conforms to

Code that's fine and thier choice

My staff work hard and I will support them allways

No. They just but bromine in their tea. The same as they used to do to our soldiers to surpress their urges.
