Emergency tax after spell on universal credit

Hi all, I've declared a new job on universal credit website, 37.5 hours per week.

The old days I'd just sign off the dole and get a p45 to give to new employer but it's run different now.

I've an old p45 from previous temp work can I use that?

Anyone know how to stop getting stuffed with emergency tax?

Been on Google but no joy

Have you submitted a P46 via your new employer (assuming PAYE)?

If your P45 from temporary job is from this tax year, give it to your new employer. They will also use your tax code from the P45 rather than an emergency one.

Yep, I sent it in but still on the emergency one. It's an agency and a bit of a crap one to be honest
