I think there are bad drivers everywhere but I don’t think it should be overlooked, that often driving in the south is more congested, the roads are often more hectic and driving can be a lot more frustrating.

Generally the roads are much freer in the north. Especially when you start to get up to Cumbria and Northumberland.

I drive in the Lake District a lot and that can be very dangerous.. drivers looking at the scenery and not the roads. I bet local up in the highlands of Scotland see exactly the same thing with tourists driving up there??

Good point. Definitely seems to be less traffic the further north you travel and I think this makes the drivers more courteous to other drivers.

Go south of the Midlands and seems to be a lot more cars on the road and like you're driving into a rat race of an atmosphere.

That's my opinion.

Northern drivers know how to drive on country roads.

South probably can navigate motorways better!

I'm in the lakes and you can tell who are the city drivers. Won't move closer to the hedge to get down a narrow country lane

"Have you driven for long periods all over England?"

Mainly the Midlands and the Northwest.

London a few times, didn't like it.
