Are you somebody that drives everywhere? Or are you someone that gets public transport everywhere?

Although I'll walk if it's within walking distance and I don't need the car for anything else.

I went on a bus in 2014, before that I went on a train (the one and only time) in 1984.

I’m not a big user of public transport.

Haven't used public transport in 40 years. We don't have a proper rail network here and as any job I've had involved multiple stops and carrying tools or products, the only practical solution is to drive.

Buses and trains don't go anywhere near where I want or need to go for leisure purposes so once again driving is the only option.

Drive. I can't stand having to get the bus. Not least because there aren't any where I live after 7pm!

If I'm going into the city centre then I tend to leave my car half way then get the bus or train because parking is so bad.

Mostly though if I can't use the bypass to get somewhere I don't really want to go!!

Public transport is extortionate!!

I don't know how people can afford you use it daily. It boggles the mind.

Between that and the time it takes to get anywhere.

Definitely a driver.

The only place I use public transport is in London!!

Buses and underground are cheaper than any other I've seen and the network is vast.

Driving, i love driving. Howeverbi do sometimes jump on the train after work to london and go for my tea then come home. I do love a good train ride

Neither of us drives. I used to have a bus pass but gave it up during the first lockdown. We walk, cycle, bus or occasionally taxi places. We have our family Railcard for the trains and use it fairly often - very handy for going to see my husband's family and friends in Scotland.

The buses don't particularly smell and you can listen into some great conversations. A whole busload of people was in hysterics once when some oblivious young woman was talking about her varied and interesting sex life very loudly on the phone at the back of the bus. People even gave her advice as she got off. You don't get that sort of comedy gold in your own car all by yourself

I personally prefer to drive, I no longer have a car though as my nerves and anxiety on the roads got the better of me!

Train into the city as its only a 7 minute ride.

Visiting family and friends,drive because its usually quicker than public transport.

As an environmental scientist I use public transport the vast majority of the time, I also use car sharing and car clubs, cycle and walk..unfortunately my job is global so I have to fly but I do offset my travel trématée carbon every year …if anyone wants to know how mail me..x

We do go to Newcastle quite abit though so if we aren't going far from the station or buying much, then we take the train as we get free travel. Saves us a good chunk on fuel.

If public transport was more reliable, cheaper and took a direct route I'd use it more. However to get to my parents is half an hour by car or two buses, a train and a long walk taking in total two hours by public transport.

I like to drive but sadly all the cameras and surveillance have taken much of the enjoyment out of it.

Being in London public transport is a fact of life and luckily quite efficient (although expensive), I much prefer the tube over the bus.

Where I live, public transport is a joke. No station nearby and buses once in a blue moon. I'm a quarter of a mile outside the Greater London boundary so don't get a decent travel pass and have never bothered applying for the Kent bus only pass.

Without a vehicle, my current lifestyle will barely be tenable.

You could have a couple of driving lessons to help get your confidence back. No need to buy a car either, as the Enterprise Car Club is very good.

If I had to go to London this week from Cheshire I’d rather take the train than drive.

I’ve gone off travelling long distances unless I really have to these days. It’s also cheaper if you break the journey in to two legs and change at Birmingham, I’ve gone to London for £30 and that’s not an advance fare either. The cost in petrol, parking and congestion charge would be significantly more.

However I do like the convenience of a car, visiting Bolton yesterday to see my Mother was a lot easier and faster than public transport.

I don’t enjoy driving (I do enjoy motorbike riding though) so if public transport was an easier option I’d go with it. But if someone else is driving….I’ll be happy to be a passenger

Drive unless public transport is convenient and affordable which it rarely is. Some places like Manchester or central London are a nightmare to drive to and park though so I'll get the train or drive part way and get a train the rest.
