My list would be too long. I’m crap with sympathy. Giving and receiving. Ask me to help though or help sort something and I’m there.

We call them askholes, I work with one. She has constant dilemmas and makes (some) people really worry about her and then totally ignores all advice from everyone she asks. Then a couple of months later, repeats the same thing.

People who complain about their shitty life, but won't make 1 single change. This includes spendaholics, dieters, untidy/dirty houses, have no job and hoarders. I'm pretty unsympathetic but you'd never know. I'm completely lovely to them but inside I'm screaming. "Well stop buying shit you don't need then!" "Stop having Macdonald's every day!"

2 faced I think I am. Or is this normal? In my mind I'm just not being rude

I disagree.

As someone who had to become a carer at the age of 12 I was then a victim of circumstance for many many years after. I didn't have the option of walking away when I was 12 and by the time I was old enough to do so I didn't know there was anywhere else to go and I was so conditioned by that stage i wasn't aware there was anything to walk away from.

I appreciate your answer and perhaps I should have caveated mine with “adults”. Children seldom have choice until they are of age to be able to identify the consequence of their actions

Football players moaning how hard it is to be a footballer when they get paid so much money a week/month/year, train till mid-day. Play 1 match a week, saying they are knackered?

Sometimes, cos of Christmas, new year, F.A Cup runs, other cup runs they might have to play 2 or 3 games & tell us how tuff it is???

Some of us have to work in a job we hate to support ourselves or others! They are supposed to be in a job they love? Grow up!!!

Ice hockey players play more fixtures. Tennis players play 2 or 3 more hours in a male 5 set. Then they are next into the round with not much time to recover & train & tactics.

When injured they go to Physios/doctors. They are told by their managers/coaches what to do. Nutritional food is given to them. F.F.S all their thinking is done for them! All they have to do is turn up, play well, score goals (if possible), and win. What is complicated about that????

So, You can see I have no sympathy whatso ever!!!

Absolutely. I get frustrated by a combination of circumstances in my life which I've had no control over but affect me hugely. Many people are in that situation - made redundant, left by a partner, physical or mental illness, children with disabilities - what choice did they have?
