Hello everyone

we have a big anniversary coming up in just over a week and being more than a little strapped for cash at the moment the plans we originally made for a posh week away have come to naught

So can anyone give us any ideas for getting a good hotel for one or two nights as reasonably as possible, we've looked at the usual places such as latebookers etc.

PS I don't do camping

Have got a wendy house at the bottom of our garden...... will move the faries out for the night xxx

Place tend to get cheaper if you book for 2 night..

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

There are a couple of places that do the 'secret' hotel deals. You just need to say where, when and how many stars you want. I know some people have been more than pleasantly surprised at the hotels they have got that way.

Yurts. I've been to the ones just outside york and it was amazing. If there is one near you I'd recommend it. Romantic, sexy and secluded.

The place I went to had a shower black next to our yurt (30 sec walk) but the shower block also had a roll top bath for two and in another room a jacuzzi!!!

As has been suggested, try the last minute booking sites, you could also try groupon getaways but they might not be so last minute.

Used to do this when the kids were small and had some jolly good holidays but possibly not a 25th wedding anniversary option

A friend suggested www.airbnb.com to me a few days ago. There is all sorts to choose from depending where you want to stay. I haven't booked anything yet but they have used it and found it good.

Hotel du vin sometimes have offers, they often run one where if you spend over £70 in the restraunt you can get a room for £10!!
