A warm quilt or 2. I've got the heating off and the windows wide open. Lovely and warm under 2 quilts.

Invest in a hot water bottle OP!

I love snuggly bed socks and big fluffy dressing gowns. I'm sure you look super cute.

Well according to that OVO Energy blog post that caused uproar you're meant to cuddle a pet or eat porridge to stay warm

Wear hat and scarf indoors. Thick socks and slippers. Plenty of warm drinks. Keep doors shut (not slam shut to allow a little air flow). Keep warm o/p!

Good points. I do all this too as my heating doesn't heat up my flat so I'm usually cold too. Roll on summer! x

Hot bath. Just top it up with hot water every so often. I spent 2 hours in the bath last night.

One of the downsides of working from home. I layer up and wear fingerless gloves and have a blanket and hot water bottle on my lap. When I do get up from my desk, to make a hot drink or prepare some lunch, I try to do a few squats and lunges and maybe some star jumps and a bit of jogging on the spot while I am doing it.

If the temperature drops too much though, I do put the heating on for a bit.

I hardly ever have my heating on for the same reasons and have to air the house because it's old and damp so I feel your shivers!

It's sunny today so I've been ing, tidying up and I'll have a walk later but if I'm in the house, I'm all bundled up and in bed early.

Thanks for all the tips

I’ve dug the hot water bottle out and taking a flask of hot fruit tea to bed lol

Don’t have a pet to cuddle , well not the animal kind lol and the 2 legged one I have doesn’t live here and complains about my cold feet !!! The cheek of it !

I'm in much the same situation and would only add layers to the advice already given, and you lose a lot of heat through head and feet so as silly as you might feel indoors a hat or headscarf will help

Gosh I've just come back from a trip up the hills quite blue.....

I think I need a full on Cwtch to warm me up!

Crazy considering it was like 15 degrees begining of last week here.

Glad you are tooled up with the water bottle.

It's a little sad when someone can't afford to put the heating on although having the heating on all the time is neither healthy nor environmentally friendly of course. Apparently wearing ski thermals keep you really warm if that helps.

Stick a draft excluder behind your front/back door - or roll a thick towel up? If there's drafts coming in from gaps in door surrounds then look to buy some draft excluder insulation tape to seal up where heat is being lost? Close upstairs doors so heat is kept in rooms. Remember to walk around once in a while, it'll help your circulation and circulate the air too.

"The menapause."

Ahh that’s the irony .. about 3am I’ll be kicking all the bedding off after my nightly hot flushes .. shame there’s no way to bottle them for later !!!

15 degrees? That's like summer in Scotland... Or as the locals here say "taps aff"

Cold in Cornwall! You should try spending a winter in Scotland

You need a fit Cornish man to spoon with, we are always giving off more heat.

I bought a heated throw from Amazon. It’s fleecy lined and costs pennies to run. I don’t even need the heating on now. One of my best purchases ever and so snuggly!
