How many wears before you wash your jeans?

If you wear them of course.

After every wear?

Every other wear?

A handful of wears?

Once a month?

Wait / what? You wash jeans!?

Me.. probably after about 4 times of wearing them on average… is that bad!?!

As soon as they're filthy.

Then I turn them inside out. Same with underwear.

Well we will see!

Assuming there’s no obvious mud or dirt on them I can squeeze a few wears out to be honest. Like on a weekend I’ll regularly wear the same jeans both days. Maybe I’m just a dirty skank?

When they can stand up on their own, I tend to hit them with a stick to bend them and then poke them into the washer.

That's what you do with men - what about your jeans?

Denim was designed to not be washed. I wash them when they are bad (smell) and I can't spot clean them.

I heard that jeans get damaged if you wash them too much, which is why all mine have holes in the knees. I wear them for a week or so, unless they get messy from the kids. Like vomit or poo, lol

Good selvedge denim doesn’t like being washed too much. Best to do it as little as possible. Enjoying the fades as they appear. Cheaper jeans I don’t mind washing more regularly. I just wish they’d stay dark forever!

I do the same. Over washing them makes them fade a lot quicker

Depends. If I am out dancing at say a weekender every other day.

Normal wear, once a week. As someone said, denim is not supposed to be washed too often.

I like them best when they've been broken in and not straight from the wash, so probably about every three wears or so

The reply’s for men probably vary depending upon how lazy we all are and how fancy our jeans are.

So, whose everyone’s favourite denim brands?

PBJ and Iron Heart make some of the best I can come across. But haven’t been able to justify yet. Trying to justify a iron heart denim jacket but think it’ll come up too short

I find G-Star a bit chavy sometimes but that’s what I mainly wear along with a few pairs of sevens. But g-star are good quality and for a good price. The make the right length and cut for me too which really helps! Some of the posher selvedge jeans are really high quality and fade well. Then the basic 3301’s are a good value Jean for every day.

What does everyone else think?

That ‘I’ve worn the sam jeans for four days now’ song was a bit of an eye-brow raiser as always thought my wearing them for about a week was normal.

Do wash them if noticeably dirty or smelly though.

Really depends what I've been doing in them, anything dirty and they go in the wash after one wear otherwise maybe 3/4 wears then wash them.

I don't wash anything unless it smells or is grubby. (Except my smalls) So there is no time limit.

I could wear jeans for 1 hour and get them dirty. Then again, they could last ages.

FABWatch HQ

When they are dirty and drying and brushing off or spot cleaning is not enough. Chip Bergh of Levi Strauss apparently said he had a pair he never washed (and he washed his by hand).

Could be that too many fabbers are wearing without underpants to be ready for action!
