I went on a dating site some time ago for a laugh more than anything, I can tell you a few dates I went on, they were trying to get in my knickers for sure, but got nowhere!

Except one, after a while, who is sat next to me now

My words to him on our first date....

I went on a dating site some time ago for a laugh more than anything, I can tell you a few dates I went on, they were trying to get in my knickers for sure, but got nowhere!

Think the F:M ratio is higher on both types of sitrs so women can be selective... those who agree to meet initially may get a better offer after.

Like on here, if I arrange a meet or a dat I turn up, lioke the gent I am...and I can do commitment

Used to be on a dating sight (in fact that's how i met hubby)used to get so much sex from them so have no idea what your on a bout lol

Used to be wined,dined theatre etc and stayed in some of the best hotels .

Wasn't looking for a relationship so got the best and enjoyed the sex

neva been on a dating site but dont do too badly on here .. tend to find a guy we like and stick with him where eva possible but as always they do tend to inevitably get a girlfriend and then its time to move onto pastures new but nice when it lasts !

Dating sites nowadays bear no similarity to the 'classified ads' of yesteryear with which people associate them.

Many are effectively watered down versions of sites like this.

People look for different things in relationships these days or perhaps more accurately many relationships are less conventional than they were 20 year ago.

The internet both facilitates and promotes those differences.

As the gent above said, you will see many of the same faces, both on dating sites and on sites like this.

I joined one once cause i wanted to go to a party and you had to be a member.

What i dont understand is, i believe you have tick boxes for age height ect ect, what if you meet 10 people that all fit your criteria, surely the one thing you look for in a life partner is that je ne se quoi and it doesnt really matter what they look like to a certain degree

I have never had a date from a dating site. I could write a very amusing tome about the dates I had from Soul Mates and Time Out in the days before t'internet but no relationships came from them.

I think the best one was the man who met me in a bar before we went on to an art exhibition. He arrived on a fold-up bike. Nothing wrong with that, except he kept his cycle helmet and bicycle clip on the whole time. He refused to put his bike in the cloakroom at the exhbition and carried it around with him the whole time. He got really upset when I told him I didn't think we should meet again.

Or, maybe Papa Smurf was the best...?

A female friend of mine who is on a fish related dating site once invited a guy over for coffee after they'd been chatting online and on the phone for a bit and she thought he came across as normal. Anyway he arrived on time do she showed him in to the living room and told him to make himself comfortable whilst she went to fetch the coffee.

She was only gone for a couple of minutes but when she went back to the living room the guy was standing there with his trousers around his ankles and masturbating furiously. She said she stood there aghast for a minute then told him to get the full out of her house.

Seems he'd got the wrong idea about why he'd been invited for coffee - it really was just coffee that she'd invited him over for - and even more so when she'd said to make himself comfortable.

That reminds me, I put myself on the fish place at the beginning of this year. I had two men asking if I had accepted God into my heart and my life and one asking if I would go hobbit hunting with him. I didn't last long on that site and decided to give up looking for a date.

On the site I was on before I met Perky, a lady asked me if I had any false limbs.... A little odd, I thought... When we did meet, she apologised for having to ask that, but that the reason she did was that one of her 'dates' had come on the bus, with his disability scooter ..... and with his false leg strapped to the back of it.......and she didn't want to repeat the 'experience'...

I have done dating site and have some wonderful memories and some dreadful ones, as i almost got myself drugged and if it wasn't for the fact that his ex wife was still living with him (which i didn't know about) she switched the coffees that he had made... hence i got away and he didn't. Met pork on another social networking site, because we went to school together (Which i didn't know either lol) and we share the same birthday and the same age and that is what got us talking and together.

I prefer it here on Fabs i find it safer esp as i am doing this as a couple...

I have never been on a dating site but I have a number of close friends who are. This on the whole is their experience.
