Somewhere In The Ether…

Good folks; What TV series would you choose to make a come back?

Alternatively, would you like any particular sequel to a specific film?

Depends whether the comeback was true to the original, and not influenced by PC, also I think today's remakes of classic tv are hindered by bad scripts and acting (trying too hard to be funny) so in this case I say..bring back 'magic roundabout '

'The Persuaders' from 1971 with Roger Moore and Tony Curtis. The theme music is a classic piece by John Barry. Very dated and sexist by today's standards.

This is very true, so many good series that just couldn't exist today. Not sure how much better off we are as a result.

"Good folks; What TV series would you choose to make a come back?

I don’t know if this is really within the limits of the ask!

It is not a sequel to a film but rather a remake of a film

The original “Rogue Male”, starring Peter O’Toole, was brilliant but I would love to see a GOOD remake of this fab film

Not keen as what often made iconic TV was often the actors and original writers. So as much as I’d like …

The Sweeney,

Inspector Morse,

Miami Vice,

Blake 7 (dodgy sets made it, these days it would be CGI)

Moonlighting, (hate Bruce Willis now)

The West Wing,

I’m not sure they would be half as good now without those original makers.

more or less what I said earlier, scriptwriters and actors sadly aren't of the same calibre as the original.

They made recent movies of Miami vice and the sweeney which were a bit rubbish.

Endeavour is the prequel to Inspector morse and is really like it.

It seems to have been called "the great Britain dig - history of your garden" (of course to keep it in line with all the other Great British programmes).

The official reboot of Time Team is airing on YouTube!!!!!! Tony Robinson was on ther radio saying Time Team was coming back but he wasn't wanting to present it, just be behind the scenes.

Oh and something hey don’t need to remake but just show again so the young’ uns can see how brilliant BBC. Drama could be:

I personally can never understand why they didn’t do “The Honourable Schoolboy” when they made the other two!

"Time Team with Tony Robinson

Is that / has that not already come back with Hugh Dennis?if it has, when/where is it on?

It seems to have been called "the great Britain dig - history of your garden" (of course to keep it in line with all the other Great British programmes).

The official reboot of Time Team is airing on YouTube!!!!!! Tony Robinson was on ther radio saying Time Team was coming back but he wasn't wanting to present it, just be behind the scenes."

ok, thanks.

I can tell you one program I didn’t want rebooted but it’s happened. The fresh Prince of bel air. Even the trailer is a travesty.

Lexx

It came out when Red Dwarf was starting to become repetitive (even though Craig Charles and "female" Holly had a cameo in one episode).

It was evident in the last half of the final series that it had been cancelled and the writers were desperately finishing it off.

All Along The Watchtower

A forgotten BBC sitcom that was actually very good, in a gentle humour sort of way.
