I have 3, 2 small ones and am in the process of getting a sleeve done. I love them and do not regret any of them, even tho the smaller ones are not what I would pick now, they represent part of my story.

I really like mine, although if I was a blank canvas once again I may have planned them slightly differently.

I got chatting to a young lady in a bar in newcastle and she had the most amazing tattoos on her arms of old sailing ships… they were the types of tattoos I haven’t seen on people since I was a kid. They and she blew me away, what a fantastic lovely person we had a right good matter but I failed to ask her where she got them done…

I have 6 small tattoos -

Back of neck

Front of my right shoulder

Both inner arms

Both feet

All of mine have initials in or around them for my nephews, mum, sister, gran and grandad

My inner arms are angel wings with a p and a g inside them for my grandparents who I lost in October last year

My shoulder has a D beside a hummingbird - I chose my shoulder for my nephew as that’s where he can rest his little head when tired or upset, or I’d hoist him onto my shoulders when he needs carried

One of my feet has a A next to a butterfly - this is for my elder nephew, he is very creative and free spirited so I find the butterfly is a representation of him being able to spread his wings

My other foot has a L and E inside a Polynesian swallow - for my mum and sister as a swallow is seen as protection of family

My neck has an M beside a different swallow design - this is for my grandmother as she was the head of our family and symbolised hope and happiness

If I didn’t like them, I wouldn’t get them. I like mine and would like more. I find tattoos on men particularly attractive. Love looking down and seeing an inked limb entwined around me. A certain type of guy with a certain type of tattoos can have me all hot and bothered just by his mere presence

I had a social with a guy that knew I have tattoos.

He waved his finger at them and said 'whats this all about?' in a most disgusted tone and then proceeded to ask what they meant like he thought he had the right to know me after that.

Most of my mates Tats arent looking to good now (inked 35yr plus mind).

Do today's techniques stay clearer for longer? The colours certainly seem much more defined

I had a tiny one on my hip when I was 17 that was Chinese symbol, took 10 minutes to do , didn't feel like it was a proper tattoo so got it covered up a few years later with a waterlily which took 3 and a half hours

Have wanted another ever since but can't decide on what it's been 13 years.....

I (misses) am fairly heavily covered - two sleeves and a chest piece, and one leg sleeve. My other leg is largely covered however moving to my back next I have random themes throughout, not all meaningful but I like them.

Love the whole experience of tattoos, adrenaline of getting it done through to the aftercare love it.

My back piece is an ongoing work in progress. I’ve had some covered as they weren’t particularly meaningful, some were but are from a chapter of my life that’s closed. The only one I wish I wasn’t having to have covered is one on my back, that was from when I lost my nanna and my baby a few weeks apart. But the artist who designed it originally, is also doing my back piece, so we have photographs of the original one, and when my back is done, it will be redone on another part of my body.

My youngest daughter is also designing two, one to represent her (a gothic fairy) and one for her disabled sister (an Angel), so I’ll have tattoos to represent all my babies xx

I personally don’t care who likes my tattoos or not, I’m more than my body/body art anyway, it’s just that I chose to use ink to mark chapters in my life, others use diaries, haha xx

I don't generally find tattoos appealing or unappealing. Though I have seen some really bad ones.

I have a few and don't regret any, probably because I didn't get my first until my 30s. My trailing roses were designed specifically to fit my body and I love that my spider surprises people.

Honestly for tattoos the more the merry I absolutely love admiring someone else's art worl it all depends on quality as well I think it would look rather strange with loads of stick men all over there body but who knows the style of art changes through the years what was once "cool" isn't so much and its down to the individuals. But I also love it when people have tattoos and have a story to tell by them and true meaning. As for mine are exactly that each has a story however small and some meaning
