I am not really into soaps. I had the TV on whilst emerdale was on just now. I thought I was watching some sort of psycho film. What's going on? Do you watch it?

I remember watching it when it was called Emmerdale Farm and was about farming.

Haven't watched it for absolutely years.

I used to watch soaps about 20 years ago until they all became very depressing. I don’t see them as light entertainment anymore.

If someone doesn’t kill Meena I’m tempted to take things into my own hands. Evil bint!

I bet the actress who plays her gets rotten eggs thrown at her outside Tesco’s!

I think Stephen King has taken over the script writing, it’s stretching credibility now but at least it’s entertaining. A far cry from Amos Brierley, pulling pints at The Woolpack and Annie Sugden baking for the Womens Institute. What hasn’t changed is yet magical ability to always have spotlessly clean overalls during the now few farming scenes. I marvelled at that and still do.

They never really were.

The power of TV to create mindsets was discovered in soaps.

They weren’t as deep though. Much lighter. Having said that I don’t think I’ve seen one for years!

I stood next to Lofty once, in a pub toilet. More of a tap than a shake. But he did wash his hands.

Emmerdale, on the odd occasion I have watched does have some attractive females and it generally has humor and good storylines. Charity Dingle and Moria are gorgeous. There was one, she does ITV competition advertising now can't think of her name but she looks filth.

I stopped watching that and corrie about 3 years ago because I was getting depressed watching it.

I know it's not real but jeez, it's a complete horror story, nothing fun or happy ever happens in it without being ruined in some way.

Soaps were light entertainment years ago, now you have trigger warnings at the beginning and helplines at the end ffs!

Some say it's reflecting current society, well I say there's enough shit in current society we don't need it also rammed down our throats on soaps.

Years ago there would be one controversial storyline in the midst of the programme, now its every family, couple, workplace going.

Nah, I'll pass thanks.

I see Chas Dingke in the supermarket quite often.

She was once quite upset as there was no watercress.

My thoughts exactly! I don’t need that heavy shit when I’m relaxing with a cuppa after a days work.

Paige Sandhu who plays Meena. In my opinion is playing the part brilliantly. With just the right amount of “nuttiness “.

She’s acting her arse off here and deserves an award

The Tantric Tea Shop

I noticed in the opening credits, a group of ramblers, i assume heading Emmerdale way!! Didn't they think to check Tripadvisor to see how dangerous the place is!! And that the pub has been blown up!! Irresponsible rambling
