It’s this sort of stereotype that pisses me off tbh I.e. West Country = thick.

There are a few variations in accent and dialects across Yorkshire. I'm from Doncaster and a number of years ago I worked in Sheffield, 20 miles down the road. At first I couldn't understand half of what they were saying. Then when I worked in Bradford it was as different again. As for Barnsley, it's a whole language in itself

I too have a Yorkshire accent as I’m from Leeds originally. I hear is Yorkshire folk (on the news etc) and just hope and pray I don’t sound like that but I probably do.

Some Yorkshire accents are better than others though. Sheffield is ok to me as is Harrogate.

Luckily for me it seems that most women who are not from Yorkshire seem to like my accent…unless they’re just being polite I guess.

I hate my accent

It’s a cross of brissle n zomerset

As I was born Bristol and lived there until I was 10 then move to a hole in Somerset where I’ve been since!!

In a couple of old jobs I had to deal with a lot of farm folk so picked up the accent.

I like accents and impersonation of them
