I’m doing it together with my wife. We do most years. It helps ensure that I only drink 11/12 tha of a very great deal in any year!!

Quite right too, even if for me those treats include a mate's 40th on Saturday and a club at the back end of the month!

I’m doing it and have done it for a few years now - gives my liver a chance to catch up!!

I just hope it is only a dry month for alcohol consumption and not sex as well

I might make it a wet one and have it as the only month I do drink then.

Never done it before but I’m giving it a go because alcohol had started to affect my sleep. I started early so got seven days under my belt now

I’m trying it (again) and I’m fairly determined this year.

Good luck to everyone giving it a go

Newcastle and Gateshead

Actually there are a great deal of really nice non-alcoholic beers and wines out there… also Gordon’s now do a 0.0% gin so it is spreading

Not really.

No pubs are in trouble so dry January will cause even more to go out of business

I’m giving it a go after a very boozy December, and then stumbling across a repeat of Adrian Chiles a Drinker Like Me on YouTube got me thinking!

Lots of us don’t drink in pubs, lots buy a bottle from Asda so dry January won’t affect the pub trade.

Sone even go to the pub and buy food and soft drinks - imagine that!

Having to eke out the January salary for the 86 days of this month, I think it'll be a dry January whether I like it or not.

Goes for both alcohol and sex.
