"My dad used to work away a lot at one time. I was very young, in Infants at school. My mother did the best she could, but was emotionally unavailable. I adored my dad (still do!). One night I was in my bed, and I could hear him talking downstairs to mum. He’d come home unexpectedly! I remember falling back asleep with a smile on my face, knowing that everything would be ok. And in the morning, there was a Wonder Woman doll for me. Happy days! In the end, he had to come home, as I just wasn’t coping without him." Great memory Dieu. Happy New Year xx

Mines possibly when I’d pretend to fall asleep in the car so I’d get carried to bed, or when I got my parents to not take me home when we’d go to my grandmas and we’d watch snooker together

"Our small back room was cosy with wonderful rays coming in from the afternoon or evening sun. In the morning the sun would radiate by reflection into it from through the front door. Aligned like some ancient sun temple but built for the joy of a small working class family. In this room we ate, lived and watched TV. On the floor I recreated historical epic struggles with an array of plastic figures and castles often built using dad’s Watney’s beer cans as turrets. We had other rooms and even a nice garden but the living room as we called it seemed like an eternal sanctuary from the uncertainties of the outside world." great memories matey

"Fishing with my Dad, not one memory but loads. Every birthday my parents would ask me what I wanted to do and it was always be go Fishing. Every single thing I can remember from those trips is a whirlwind of emotion that leaves me smiling. I just wish I could still go with him." Stockport ressers

"We had a huge school playing field at infant and junior school playing on it in the summer was brilliant ..well it seemed huge at the time and next to the canteen was a pond and chicken coop Probably couldn't get away with half of that today ....god bless the 1980's " Have you been back to see the playing field? I went back to see ours, it was huuuuge when I was little. It's just a normal quite small sized piece of grass. Like the mystery of shrinking Wagon Wheels...
