All depends on the situation when I need to speak. So I’d say I’m generally in the middle but can raise or lower my voice / tone when needed. Sometimes though saying nothing and just giving the look is enough.

Apparently I'm too quiet and don't annunciation my words well. Her ladyship on the other hand is the opposite, she has her works teams meetings and doesn't need the microphone, just opens the windows and all of Swansea can hear her

I have a quiet voice, though not generally shy (not sure they're always linked).

Thought this was interesting, @nonewwinks. I know it will depend on the job and environment but I think you can speak quietly and still have authority?

Quiet. I worked with a woman whose voice was very loud, it actually vibrated in my ears after a while. I assumed she had hearing problems so accepted with as much grace as I could muster and moaned like mad when I got home

I am an introverted extrovert! Fairly quiet and happy in my own company. But I socialise well too, particularly 1:1 or in small groups.

My kids are always telling me I speak too loud. That’s not really my personality though, so I wonder if I’m going to end up deaf as a post!

I would say my volume is pretty standard? I'm both outgoing and shy in different circumstances. If I need to do a public performance or announcement I have no problem doing it, but until I put my head above the parapet I'm a faceless member of the hoi polloi. My facial expressions dangerously convey my mood, so sometimes I don't need words!

If I'm somewhere I don't really want to be, I become a man of few words. But with close friends I am totally different. I wouldn's say I'm particularly loud, though, but I have a fairly deep timbre, and I can make myself be heard when the need arises.

I have been known to fold arms & give the stare whilst I quickly weigh someone up! It's amazing how many people nervously "jibber-jabber."

However, I never hurt anyone! I'm not a fighter... Prefer to use my brains to get out of the situation. I tend to use humour or sarcasm and talk quietly. I am capable of looking after myself though!

Also, when I talk to someone I tend to stare at them intently whether male or female. I love to see if I can see anything there or have a little whiff of their soul. See if they are full of B.S.....

If I smile, people think I'm up to something (as I have a Cheshire cat grin), (I'm not.) It makes you wonder what people may be up to deep down???
