Feelings on Blue Pill

As a man of a certain age I find the use of Viagra a great help.

I mentioned this in chat with a lady who I hoped to meet. The response was negative to say the least ranging from I wasn't a real man for using them to was I really turned on by her. She has now blocked me.

Really taken aback, anyone else experienced something similar. How do other women on here feel about men using viagra?

There should be no shame or embarrassment around this OP and well done for being open and telling her.

Alcohol can also affect performance so would she have an issue with some one not drinking to make sure everything went well? Same thing for me

I’ve never used the blue pill, too many sorrows about headaches and stuff. However, I did once try the jelly. That’s good stuff with no side effects.

Sorry that happened, the comments were absolutely uncalled for however her asking if you were turned on by her says more about her and her mind state than you, sounds like she is insecure in feeling she isn't enough maybe. I am sure you would of explained wht you use them had you been given a chance too. Such a shame

If you actually have a medical reason to take it…. They I don’t think anyone should have an issue!

It is a licensed drug, you still need to seen someone before it is prescribed for you.

If you are taking it for vanity reasons, then I think that is where I have issues…. I know of people who have had strokes after taking them!

It's a pathetic stigma in this day and age, over something you can't control. Suppose there's some debate about whether it's a thing that you *should* tell a prospective play partner, but I'd suggest not since you wouldn't expect someone to tell you they were on antidepressants - it doesn't affect you but it very much makes them function better. Still though, it was good that you were open regardless, and she was very much in the wrong to react like that.

Not that it's in any way an excuse, but you mention being a man 'of a certain age', so I'd imagine the lady was of a similar age? Old fashioned beliefs are likely to be held by those who are older, but let's hope she can find it in herself to reflect and realise how silly she was in this case.

Good luck to you OP!

It’s a drug that is taken from medical reasons… why do you think it comes in different dose sizes! Because a doctor is going to weigh up the risks vs the rewards and PRESCRIBE the right dosage

Who is to say that the mental health issues linked to ED is not a legitimate excuse ?

I have a friend who had psychological ED and used Viagra as a "corner man" as he put it. He took a little bit of a pill and that bolstered him. It worked fir him.

I took his advice and took a quarter pill before attending a club a couple of times. It didn't work. I couldn't overcome my issues with being watched or the impersoanality of certain situations.

As for health...

The vasodilatory effects allow arteries and veins to open more and increase blood flow everywhere.

I am not sure how this would form clots which cause strokes?

It is likely that poor food and other health choices made caused issues due to oxidative stress.

A study showed that "By itself, Viagra did not induce platelet aggregation. But the drug did cause clumping when other chemicals, which are released by the body when a blood vessel is damaged, were added."

So, yes it can create an increased risk of incident but only if you have already damaged your arteries through life choices.

Funnily enough, those poor choices can often lead to real biological reasons for erectile dysfunction and lead to Viagra being prescribed by doctors.

Go figure.

So many misconceptions about viagra.

You need to be aroused for it to work, so her theory that you don’t find her attractive is misguided. As for being less of a man, the main stigma associated with ED, once you get past it and own it you can start to live your life.

There are several medical issues that can cause ED, psychological as well as physiological, that to discount the issue as just not being manly enough shows their ignorance.

I don’t give a fuck that I need to use ED aids. I can still ensure the people I play with have fun as well as enjoying myself.

If someone decided not to meet me because of that, I would be thankful as I wouldn’t want to meet them.

Prior to my heart issues cropping up two years ago I was using Viagra, this was obtained using a prescription from my GP for 4 tablets per month. When I mentioned this at my first appointment with the heart consultant I was told in no uncertain way not to use them again as they were not compatable with the medication he was about to prescribe, this was later confirmed by my G.P.

This situation is ongoing so the chance of me ever having penetrative sex again is very remote. At my age I cannot really complain.

What's wrong with Viagara? I'm nearly 60 and 1x 100 mg pill prescribed by my GP allows a hard erection when I want it. I take it for medical reasons and frown upon it taken as a party drug, perhaps by young men without erectile dysfunction. I think we all agree that your lady friend was just plain stupid and her attitude encourages men to feel shame.

For some women Viagra can make them feel inadequate as they cannot provoke a erection from a man without medical assistance.

Its a sad state of affairs and only adds to the stigma

I take it, started about 6 years ago, nothing works otherwise. Quite frankly, best thing that happened to me, erections are like I’m 20 again and last all night, and then again most of the next morning!

Only slight drawback I find is, it takes about 30 mins or so to work so spontaneity is difficult.

I wouldn’t tell anyone I take it unless it was developing into a relationship then I think it would be important so that we were on the same page so to speak.

I use them when in a club or on a fab meet. It's one less thing I need to be worried about. I do it for a number of reasons. Firstly confidence that it won't let me down. 2, longevity. 3 It's not so shriveled when I get out of the pool. 4, I can go again much quicker. There are no downsides to me taking them so I don't need anyone elses opinion.

I pretty much always take a little blue pill .. I just find it enhances performance which benefits all parties! I see it as a private thing so have never mentioned it although I certainly wouldn't deny taking one. I would suggest just carry on with what you're doing but don't volunteer the information unless specifically asked .. you can then decide what answer to provide.

You can also get injections, which I believe is used a lot in the porn industry - Caverject or Trimix. They work differently from the pills so may be still available to you, or of course a pump followed by a ring??? Try everything before you give up, for your own sanity!!!!

I am wondering, OP whether the fact you disclosed it to her was the turn-off to her (rather than you taking it) and that she thought of it as a sign of making apologies ahead of likely unsatisfactory sex (in HER mind) . A rather immature and silly way to look at it but some people are rather blinkered in their views.

I know many guys who take that or Cialis and I would not think any less of them for doing so. I think, as somebody else said, you dodged a bullet here.

I found i could go for all night but it didnt stay solid after the deed was done, give it afew mins and i could be hard again to go again, no flushes ect. It helped me no end when i needed it.

I'm coming off AD tablets which have been a massive help for me for a couple of years. I'm not ashamed of them and will tell anyone about them.

One of the major side effects is that it massively reduces your sex drive and ED. Even after that, if you do finally manage to rally the troops it's very difficult to ejaculate.

Since I've been coming off the medication I feel like a horny teenager and getting random erections all the time, but it's a bit sporadic.

I've got a few potential meets coming up and so I'll probably pop a blue pill to make sure.

Am I worried what the person will think? Nope! If they've got an issue with it then that's their problem, not mine.

I see it as a tool to do a job.

Sounds like her own insecurity to me. Personally I have no issues with it and men can often have an erection even when not hugely excited so it's hardly the best measure. You can tell someone's enthusiasm in other ways.
