Morning all.. Day 2 of the January fitness planking challenge... There are over 60 people participating!

Here is Day 2 activity - the pose will be shared on the telegram group / via fab messenger

******

Day 2: Forearm Side PlankStart

* Start in basic low plank.

* Make fists with both hands and rotate your right fist into your left elbow to transition into a right side plank.

* Extend your left arm to the ceiling.

* Hold the right side plank for 45 seconds then pass through basic plank and rotate your left fist into your right elbow to transition into a left side plank.

* Hold a left side plank for 45 seconds; do three sets—one set constitutes both sides.

* Plank Workout Form Tip: keep your glutes engaged and navel toward your spine. Drive your hips toward the ceiling and stack your feet to keep your hips square

******

The standard activity is as described - but it is up to you how many seconds and reps you do.. Dial it down or punch it up depending on your ability

.... think of the sense of achievement at the end of it

May the force be with you

Midnight

Note: I am not a qualified trainer, we are following a free Internet programme.

We are each responsible for our own actions.

Apply common sense, don't hurt yourself

I know I will struggle with this. But even managing the simple plank everyday will show improvement. I hope.

I was wobbling after 6 seconds I would blame the fact I've not eaten since Thursday other than some toast last night but that would be making excuses. I'm simply a bowl of jelly at my core!

Just seen this thread.

I am a qualified fitness trainer. I used to work a gymnasium owned by my father . But since he passed away and the gym was sold I have changed my vocation

I still do a little freelance work (not much and usually only in the summer months) but now more for fun than any financial gain. If anyone needs any tips of any kind feel free to drop me a message.

A bowl of jelly is how I feel.

I honestly don't think I can manage the variations of this. I will stick to simple planking and increasing my hold.

Maybe later in the year I might be able to attempt it.

Shoot for the stars Jo and if you fall short you will still reach the moon. I’m certainly going to fall short on some of these but I’m going to have a daily plank one way or another just as you suggest
