Hair dresser advice

Hey so this might not be the place to ask but I’m going to give it a shot anyway.

I’ve been growing my hair out for 2 years now and this is my first time with long hair since I was in school 10+ Years ago. I want to get my hair cut so I can look fresh for New Years but I want to keep as much length as possible and I’ve only ever gone to a barbers for a short cut before. I do t know anything about hair styles and I’m a bit of a cave man in the regard.

Can anyone offer any advice either on good places to go in Surrey, or what I should ask for when I go in?

I appreciate any help you can offer

Look at pics on the net (try searching longer hair styles for men) and show them to the stylist you decide on - it’s easier than trying to explain I think xx

It looks like you have quite curly hair from one of your pics, there arent really many styles that suit long curly hair on men, like mine as i have the mohawk with shaved sides, used to have the back shaved too, but my hair is very wavy with big curls at the tips

You can still go to a barbers and not need to spend a fortune at some fancy salon. Some out there will have experience as unisex hairdressers so try search for those rather than your regular if they only specialise in mens short hair.

When you get it cut, just a trim is all you need, about a centimetre or two. As you dont have any particular style like mine, you dont need to worry about hair length from front to back and the middle to the sides.

With having long hair though, the parting matters, left, right, centre parting, or no parting at all, experiment and see how each looks with your facial structure
