Tell me about the films that scarred you for life? I don't know what it is, but I always find myself binging horror and thriller films around this time of year. I know it's trash, but Paranormal Activity genuinely freaked me out when I first watched it.

No. I don’t like them at all so don’t watch them. I’ve never watched a whole one, only bits. That was enough!

My parents were strict about what we watched as kids, but I had a friend where anything goes in her house! So I watched the Amityville at 8 years old while on a sleepover at hers. Swear to God, I couldn’t get to sleep for the best part of a year afterwards!

That said, I do like scary films. But I prefer a good psychological thriller, to a ‘jump out your skin’ horror.

Horror is my fave genre.

I used to get briefly messed up but for the life of me I cannot remember which ones did that.

Probably would have been the demonic manifestation type ones. Paranormal activity- babaduke as examples.

That was a really good one. I grew up with horrors because everyone in my family watched them and made me watch with them since I was around 10 years old, or maybe even younger I cant remember.

Somewhere In The Ether…

When I was a child I rather stupidly, snuck downstairs without my parents knowledge to watch the two part mini-series, Salem’s Lot.

To say I was scarred was an understatement and I subsequently had recurring nightmares of creepy vampiric children floating around outside and scratching on my bedroom window(!!!)

Love horror/scary movies... have met "Freddie" twice now... what an absolute swwetheart

Even Horizon was the one that gave me nightmares oddly enough... saw it when it came out... haven't watched it again to this day... it was bloody terrifying!

In the middle

I love horror films, not slasher types though but good old “makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand up” type, I’ve just watched The Fog (original version) and now I am watching The Grudge

I read that book, couldn’t put it down not because I was enjoying it but because I was scared shitless, finished it the next day then binned it.

So effective with the sleeping nightmare angle as you think about the film when you're going to sleep later.

I used to peek around the door and watch what I could of whatever mum and dad was watching, they scarred me! I quite like horrors but I can’t watch werewolf films or vampires.

But I’ve seen the likes of The Nun, A Haunting in Connectitcut, Paranormal Activity, The Possession, Sinister and Annabelle

Jacobs Ladder (the Tim Robbins one) had quite an impact on me. The original Alien.

More recently Audition.

I don't like demon type things, I can't handle pin head just can't bring myself to watch. The 1998 remake of carnival of souls gives me nightmares still and I only watched 15 mins of it.

Well I do but 80s and 90s horror was the best. Horrors like the fly, basket case, maniac cop, candy man original etc were the best.

I love a good horror film especially Japanese originals The Ring and Grudge. The original Let the Right one in is fantastic too. Ginger Snaps is a firm favourite of mine.

Anything involving clowns or ventriloquist dummies freak me out (probably from sneaky viewing as a kid).

I eventually got over Salem's Lot and The Howling

It's the original Omen trilogy, that's stuck with me, I'm still uncomfortable with it...

Paranormal Activity, Grave Encounters, Invoked, Borderlands etc.. I'm really thankful those types of movies weren't around when I was a kid

There are films that have actually made me physically flinch or turn away. But they weren't horror movies, and don't affect me any were near as deeply as a decent horror flick
